GSG 1911 .22LR vs. Sig Sauer P226 .22LR Conversion Kit

I have used both. The 226 is really easy to use and you can swap the slides in about 10 seconds. It is great,

The gsg is a ton of fun and a great gun to shoot. It functions like a 1911 and feels like one.

You cannot go wrong with either choice.

Agreed, I have the Sig conversion kit and plan on getting a GSG so I can practice more with the 1911 platform.

Agreed - both is the best answer!

I just bought a P226 .22lr conversion kit and shot it yesterday for the first time, had some FTEs but it was freezing outside with snow on the ground. Regardless, I had a ton of fun and I used it in an IDPA stage only for fun to see how it would work and it was great - I made the right choice buying the SIG conversion first, but I will buy a GSG 1911 next year some time just because it's a very solid feeling gun with excellent magazines (not plastic like the sig mags)

The GSG slide locks back when empty.

The Sig (in .22 format) does not lock back.

No last shot hold-open is a deal breaker for me.
