Saw one in person a couple weeks back. Look like they are well made & nice finish to boot. Seem to be priced about right as well. Might think about getting one myself down the road when they become "more available". Although, I am not a huge fan of the firing pin block safety they felt they had to put in it.

NAA.

Don't tell me the Swartz is with it![]()
from two bad "internal pin safeties" of course I'll choose the one with less problems...
that would be the Swartz, because is made to be activated by grip safety (less parts involved) and not by trigger like the 80 series
I've had mine for a couple of months now. I've had a few FTF's with it. Home rolled and factory ammo. It's a nice tight gun, this maybe why I'm getting some jamming. I polished the feed ramp but haven't tried it since. I'm hoping it will be a nice reliable gun when it loosens up a bit. Fit and finish are quite nice for the price.
I'm not too optimistic about Remington's ability to build a good 1911, given their quality control problems of the last few years.
Huh? I just watched the promo video and they say it is being manufactured in Ilion New York.I hear these R1's are made for them in the Philipines. There are a lot of good servicable 1911's coming out of there. I wouldn't worry too much.....![]()
How many is that now?
