AR lower out of wood and brass?

could a guy build an AR lower out of a nice hardwood and use brass to make all the bushings/threaded parts? i would assume that the stock would have to be integral to the lower and perhaps be more of a thumbhole or classic non-pistol grip style for strength at the buffer tube area, but other than that?

i dont have the time or money to ever give it a go, but if i won the lotto, i know what i would like to get custom made

that is crude, but it did sorta work, i bet a brass liner for all the holes and a nicer wood would do quite nicely

laminated hardwood with lotsa veneers would probably hold up i would still use brass inserts anywhere there is stress

The idea behind the Leader rifle was to keep manufacturing costs low. The upper receiver was made from common, off the shelf steel square tubing. Decent concept.

Other than that, it's just a long stroke AR18 clone.
