Springfield Armory 1911---> Pros and cons please...

I love my Loaded 1911 .45 ACP, also my Milspec .45.... both in parkerized finish. Everything after market fits it. No nasty surprises. Both shot better than I can hold them. :D Fit and finish was great. No complaints from me!

Love that Brazillian metalwork. Great quality! Just wish I can afford another one! Too bad they don't make a 1911 single stack in 9mm under $ 1K

Cheers,
Barney

Is it easy to get parts for them ? ( for repairs as they age )

Do they retain their value well ?

Who sells them in Canada ?

I really like my Springfield 1911s. The only complaint I got is they are not easy to get.......

I think the top one is the mil-spec. I bought one used here about a year ago, love it. Also have the g.i. I almost sold the mil-spec a while ago, glad I smartened up. Its probably my best shooter. The g.i. was my first pistol, only trouble was the plunger tube got a wobble in it after a few thousand rounds. Restaked it, good as new.

Yes. the pistol on the top is a Mil-Spec.

To the OP, try to contact Canadian Springfield dealers and ask for the Range Officer Model from SA.;)

Here are a couple of pics of my 2004 Springfield Stainless loaded.
I was adding the S&A slimline mag guide, rosewood slim grips, and a Wilson Combat oversized mag release when these pics were taken.
I'm going to try it out next week to see if I still need the mag release now that the slim grips are installed.
The fitting of the mag release and the relief cut in the right grip panel were not complete when these pics were taken.
I also installed the Wilson Combat faux checkering on the front strap to see if I want to send it out for the real deal.
I'm also on the lookout for the new Range Officer model.

You put some black Hogue rubber finger grove grips on that and that will be one sharp looking pistola!

Thanks,
I have very small hands which is why I installed slim grips and the oversized mag release in the first place.
The Hogue grips will do nothing to help slim down the gun any.
Besides I prefer the look of wood and metal:D
