in looking for some more mags for my 93R17.

ive seen the 5 rounders are there any higher cap ones?

ok i did some research....

FYI marlin's 917, 7 round mags will fit, but they require some filing of the metal that surrounds the magwel of the savage. the marlin mag is a bit fatter in width

7 round marlin 917 mag - 12.00-13.99 at cabelas (blue/nickel) cheeper than the factory 5 round replacement!

you need to widen the magwell.

its pretty obvious when you attempt to insert a mag

I talked to the savage sales rep, I asked him to pass on our concerns about the mags and asked him to push for a 10 round clip as the demand is very high for this item. only time will tell at this point .

well lets see, mags are less expensive, have +2 capacity over OEM, and your complaining about having to do 3 minutes work with a file? seems like a no brainer to me?

but if your happy with yours, then thats all that matters
