Tonights unnerving find

.......... There were three severed heads with the antlers sawed out and one partial carcass.

Didn't see it before the critters got to it.

Found three severed heads, one complete carcass, no cut off legs or boned out sections or anything, ............

Just what exactly did you find?

Perhaps the bones were taken home like some have suggested, to feed the dogs. Usually dogs don't eat a skull. Now, if the horns and the bones were going to be kept, perhaps the heads were left to save the hunter a trip just to dispose of a skull.

IMHO the three tags are the stupidest set up I have ever seen. In any kind of bad weather they are a major PITA. If you have to carry the animal out of the brush they are easily torn off. ( In theory they are supposed to be attached at the kill site )

One tag or 20 tags will not stop anyone from cheating. If the CO's are truly concerned they will be out there checking. In all fairness they are terribly understaffed IMO. I have faithfully tagged my animals ever since I have hunted and during the last 35 years I have been stopped and have had my animal inspected exactly ZERO times.

One tag with a string is more than ample. Cheaters will always cheat so why make life a PITA for us law abiding hunters with retarded triple stickers.
It starts out as one complete tag in MB. The sections are perforated so each can be removed and attached to that portion after processing. The head and cape tag can go to the taxidermist, meat tag on carcass/deboned meat to the butcher. I see nothing wrong with this system, but I can see a lot of potential problems arising with the one tag system.

Well when on my way hunting tonight I made an ugly find.

I hunt in the bush and park my vehicle in a semi-used gravel pit. On the way in I see about a dozen ravens on the edge of the road in and say, oh, dead deer. I wasn't completely correct. There were three severed heads with the antlers sawed out and one partial carcass.

Not even an attempt to hide them out of sight. I don't think that it would be regular hunters doing something like that.

Just very disappointing when the normal hunters do their best and aren't having luck in the area then you see something like that. Yes it looks funny , maybe it isn't. But to me it has a hint of stink to it!

I don't get the problem here? Is cutting out the antlers a problem or is not making the heads into a zombie brain stew a problem?

What do you do with the heads? I don't keep them, but I could send mine to you collect if you would like.

and one partial carcass
What part of the carcass? The good part, bad part or ugly part? All shot to hell? Perfect what?

Not into collecting heads, although I didn't fill one of my tags so maybe a nice 175+ whitetail would do.

Talked to a few folks concerning CFIA regulations, apparently there can be major implications on improper disposal of any animals, livestock and wild.Have to look closer into it to see exactly what it is about though.

Have been told by some that it is considered littering some have said it's nothing at all. These are all gov't employees. Be nice to know the exact regulations on that as well but can't get definitive answers. I think if it wasn't in public plain sight they wouldn't be as concerned.

I take my waste out to a buddy's farm for nature to do it's job. Just outa sight outa mind that way.

Yea its best to call the CO's they may not be able to do anything but if theres a pattern or something bigger going on maybe the can investigate and eventually catch some of these #######s that ruin hunting for the rest of us.

True enough , already had the CO's called to my spot by someone, so someone don't like me hunting there. But oh well, it's all legal and legit so maybe someone wanted that spot or maybe granola crunchers. who knows!

Even have the CO on the game cam. ;)

You guys gripe about someone dumping remains... some people do that if they have no better place to do so, or dont have dogs to chew on the bones.

I saw a whole buck carcass just left behind, with its head gone.
I couldnt believe it.. Who would do something like that?
