What about a Gen 4 NEA handguard...

I didn't say they don't sell VZ stuff. I said they don't make it.
Well then this means that they post bogus infromation on there website then Stevo.
Troy Industries has engineered a high-performance BattleRail for the VZ58 Rifle. The Troy VZ58 BattleRail provides a solid mounting platform for optics, foreword grip, flashlights and other accessories as well as providing better heat dissipation and improved ergonomics. Patent Pending.
Also Stevo after I read your posting I get the idea behind it but on this rifle system I don't believe it's best suited for it. But then again to each there own.
Now say your NEA barrel mount. Use this instead of the stock front post sight. So you could have flip up sight's on your rear stock and also at the end of the barrel. I think this would truely be the best of both worlds. Then this would slove everyones problems with the co-witness with different red dot optic's.

It's called marketing. I certainly didn't buy this handguard from Troy.

Are you talking about the co-witness? If so, I think it's the way to go when the option is available. I've run many matches and thousands of rounds downrange with the co-witnessed TRS-25. It works on the VZ.

Regarding your last point, I would rather use the iron sights the rifle came with than add AR BUIS. If I didn't have an optic that co-witnessed, I'd use a QD mount. It's the second best choice. I have used an Aimpoint Comp M2 in an ARMS QD mount on the NEA VZ rail in the past. Someday I'll replace the Bushnell with an Aimpoint Micro.

WoW!

Also is that your handguards that they are using or is it TROY INDUSTRIES?

Get out much!?!:bangHead:

I feel this post is best responded to simply by changing the order of the lines. Do you really not know about NEA and TROY?

Bottom line: there are no real disadvantages to cowitness. There are major advantages. That is why virtually every unit that can run cowitnessed optics, does. If you never ask anything of your guns, you will never see the need. But that doesn't mean that people who do push their guns shouldn't do stuff you don't understand. When you get to where they're at, you'll probably understand why they do what they do.

..well said. Time on the range always sheds more light than time on the couch.

Really now...

I guess this website is a bunch off B.S. then?

Troy ordered enough units from us that we branded the handguards as Troy for the U.S market.

The units being used over sea's are NEA branded, not that it matters.

I have run the gun this way and its a great option, but now that we have tritium front and rear factory iron replacements in a big dot configuration i prefer the factory iron set up.

This is probably a stupid question, but if I am using the NEA AR stock adapter , the front will still be co-witnessed but can I still use it as the rifle is more a straight line? Whereas the stock but stock would be dipping a bit. Again sorry if this is a stupid question.

The stock adapter, hand guard and barrel clamp are all on the same plane which allows you to install BUIS and co witness a full size optic.
