Can anyone help identify this Lee Enfield ?
Its a 303, Serial #575448
The most unique feature compared to all I've seen, there is no detachable magazine just the internal version. The bottom magazine plate does remove with the spring. Raised rear site to 1600 yards.
There are many stamps but the most predominate ones are:
"ERA" close to the serial number
<-
crown emblem
G.R.
flags crossed emblem
P.
I'll get some pictures to help if required.

Eddystone Remington Arms P14 from the sound of it- it's an Enfield, but not a LEE Enfield. Pics would tell us more, so post 'em if you got 'em.

From what I know, the P-14 was actually intended to replace the Lee Enfield after the piss poor performance of the Long Lee in the Second boar war, and is based on the German mauser action. But after the updated Lee Enfield (No.1 Mk3) excellent performance during the first world war the P-14 was never adopted as standard.

From what I hear they are rally good accurate rifles,

Accurate, but in comparison the the venerable Lee Enfield, an inferior battle rifle. Even as a deer hunting rifle in tight bush, the LE wins. Dont get me wrong, I have several P-14's, and shot my first few deer with one! Hows it shoot?

The only reason the P14 wasn't adopted was that little disagreement that happened around that date.
However while the Bitish didn't use the P14 in WW1, they were damm glad they still had them in storage for the second go round. after Dunkirk, anything that would chamber a .303 round was pressed into service. The Home Guard got the M1917's since supplying them with ammo wouldn't be a problem.

thanks for the information

I've never shot this rifle.

I started deer/moose hunting with another modified P14 and had reasonable luck but had to hand it back when I could afford my own rifle. I thought I would pass this onto "one of the boys" when they started hunting but they're showing no interest.

So I was getting some info to list it.

It never ceases to amaze me the wealth of knowledge that can be found on some of these sites. Thanks for all the information and discussions.
