CZ 75BD vs Sig 226?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the P226 E2 yet. Its grip is very comfortable even for my small hands. And it comes with 3 mags, nitron finish, and night sights. I shot P226 & P229 club guns and didn't like the grip, but E2 is different.

The Shadow is my very 1st handgun, and I truly love it. Having said that, I ordered the 226E2 in .40S&W a couple of days ago... :D

Ok. Here:

-I've yet to see one case where a CZ consistently bests a SIG, except when budget is the consideration.

Although, admittedly, the sentence was/is badly writtten.

but if they are tied in all other areas then isnt that enough to make it stand above the sig? i think they are both great pistols, both are reliable, and accurate, personally i like the feel of a CZ better some people may prefer a Sig. Other then the feel the only concrete thing that differentiates the two is price, and if they both perform the same and they both fit your hand why not go with the cheaper one if your not losing out on quality and accuracy?

Thanks for all the replies here guys.

The E2 may be an option, never heard of it before, thanks for that.

I've shot both. Like the CZ grip much better. I've never felt an E2 before, does anyone out there have one?

Well, yes, I suppose it would be, however I certainly don't think they're tied in all other areas!

Agreed. That's why the last thing that I said was that if one fits your hand better than the other, then there's your decision right there.

Not agreed. In every example I've seen, fit and finish of SIGs is far better than CZs. SIGs triggers are better (IMO) in every respect, either stock, or after having some love applied to both of them.

Plus, I shoot better with a SIG, and think CZs are, well... Kinda ugly. cou:

How bout IPSC Production?

I beat a CZ shooter at our provincials, his gun (Shadow) didn't work - mine (226) did. One of our local shooters had to switch guns at the Nationals this year when his CZ decided to stop mid stage...

The CZs are great, but almost every one I've seen has had reliability issues. Still its a winning design and I might even be convinced to switch if they just weren't so 'common'... :p

That's it right there.

Some guy: "The CZ Shadow wins at IPSC matches because it has a super-duper low bore axis!"
Me: "The CZ Shadow wins some IPSC matches because there's a quadzitillion being entered."
Some guy: "Oops, I pooped myself again."

If I ever find the guy who put fools onto "low bore axis", I'm gonna punch him directly in the ear. 'Cuz that hurts.

I am not sure Sig or CZ which one better, but lately there are quite a bit Sig for sale at the EE, I was wonder how good these gun were??? But I don't mind to buy a 226 that was made in Germany.

Bore axis is a factor! its not the only factor that matters but it isnt irrelevent. i shoot a glock, hk, sig, cz, beretta and there is a difference. My production gun is 75B i can shoot it the best and it fits my hand a little better than others and the fact that it sits low in my hand is a bonus.

Challenge accepted!

Now just let me make a phone call to add "dueling" to my reasons for owning retricted firearms, then, of course, we'll have to find an approved dueling range.. Then we'll have to get an ATT to go to this range, and we'll probably have to be members... Oh, and I'll have to pick up my second, but he's probably not on the route to the dueling range, so I'm gonna have to arrange transport for him... And then one of us is gonna die, so we should probably start transfers of our weapons into other people's names.....

Um... How do you feel about swords?

OMG that's hilarious:D

For me its SIG all the way

The OP did ask for a comparison. Calling a pistol ugly hardly seems to be helpful.
 However, if you think that kind of discussion is warranted perhaps you should start a new thread.

To the OP: I did have a chance to fondle an E2 but I never shot one. The E2 grip does feel a lot better in my hands than a classic P226. And the short reset trigger feels good, too.

Maby Im silly, but basic black just doesn't cut it for me anymore!

I do realize you can get many stainless Sigs, but for about double what I paid for my CZ!

And common this is ###y!

Even for a holster, I just couldn't put such a ###y gun in some crappy plastic holster!

Before buying a SIG, I did handle a lot of pistols. Out of the box, I prefered the SIG trigger. The CZ had a longer reset and was grittier. The grips on the CZ are smaller, so I think it may be appealing to people with smaller hands. Look wise, I prefered the SIG but this is totally subjective.

IMO, both are good choice, it all comes down to which you prefer and which feels better in your hands.

Don't buy into the "Save 200$ and buy a case of ammo". This is a silly argument; a well maintained pistol can last a lifetime. Will you care in 10 years if you saved 200$ and shot 1 more case of ammo? I think not... IMO, it's worth it to pay more to get what you really wanted.

sporks? :D , is there a rule on cgn about challenging other members to mortal combat:p

This is unbelievable... I ordered the P226E2 in .40S&W from Questar this past Sunday. It came in the mail today. Amazing service, this is the fastest I ever got a restricted.

I'm going away for the weekend & won't be able to try it just yet. But it does feel significantly slimmer than the P226, almost as thin as the Shadow with original rubber grips. Also has a good feel of being top-heavy, similar to a GP6.

This is my 1st Sig yet, I'll let you know next week if it makes me come like my Shadow does. ;)

Both are great combat pistols. Just buy whatever got you excited. I prefer the P226 as I have large hand. However, if you want them cheap I believe Norinco have both guns in their catalogue.
