Hey folks...

Just wondering on a rough ball park price for one of these?

Just picked one up from a buddy, and pending the arrival of my reg cert she'll be going up for sale. The finish on the barrel is a bit rough, and some dings and scrapes on the wood. It's a Carl Gustov manufacture, from 1945.

Anyways, I have no use for this huge massive hulk of a rifle. So if anyone can help me out with value, please let me know!

That's about what they seem to go for.

That huge massive hulk of a rifle, friend, just happens to be the single most accurate semi-auto rifle ever constructed. Add on a gas restrictor at the takeoff, adjust it properly and it will shoot circles around that plastic thing the Army is using now.... and it will flatten a moose at ranges where the C7 just tickles them.
.

Beautiful rifle. I got my AG42b from CGNer cam1936 last month and it's Egyptian cousin in 8mm arrived just yesterday thanks to CGNer sledge. If the Hakim shoots anything like the Swede I'm going to be REAL impressed. (Anybody have a Rasheed they're looking to move?)

You really should test-drive yours before you kick her out the door. They are a step up on most semis.

I'm going to be looking for a Hakim this summer. From what I read, they pretty much are no more than a scaled version of the AG42.

And like the AG42, they go for the same price of $3-500 and they are also known for being accurate and loud.

Dangerous rifles in my opinion
UNLESS
You are running Swedish milspec 6.5X55 ammunition
OR
Know to utilize very hard milspec primers when you're reloading

These things have a serious primer crater before you pull the trigger and if caught off guard could have consequences to safety. In other words - a rifle best left to folks that understand these obscure rifles.

They were not a world wide success for a reason.

I am looking for a mag for my pristine rashid/rasheed.

Dangerous how so Riflechair?
I've had one for a few months now, only got to fire 20 commerical winchester round through it.

Its shooting to high on me but with iron sights at 100 yards benche rested the circle was withing a 6 inch grouping. My first rounds too, as I learn the rifle I am sure it can only get better.

They sell for 300-700 (On Zfarm 6 months ago). But with dings and wear I think the 300-400 margin is more realistic. Got mine for 300$ with ejector rubber drum missing, otherwise fair condition. Personnaly I think that was a great price.

I had one for a long time and shot so much ammo through it. Back then you could get prvi partisan soft point or fmj for around $8-9 a box, and I also bought a crate of norma match grade target ammo. Never had a problem with that ammo. Only problem occurred when I first got the gun and shot some military ammo that had a chrome like projectile. The case stuck in the chamber.

I would suggest you fire your Hakim a few positions away from other folks The muzzle blast won't make you any friends:eek:

AG42B remember to pack a lunch when you go out to pick up the fired cases.:D

LOL! I found some Swede surplus so until that's gone I don't have to worry about cases - I'll take the Hakim down to the far end with the black powder guys. ;)

Thanks for the info folks.

I will be selling this one.... I never wanted it in the first place, and it was thrown in on another gun deal. I'm finding that I'm starting to run into the problem of too many calibers. Even though I reload, trying to buy/afford all the different components can be a bit much.

After xmas keep your eye on the EE if you're interested!

IS

And thanks again!

I adore my Ljungman! I've enjoyed every Hakim I've tried...just, today, saw my first Rashid!

All great...the only safety issue I can see with the Ljungman (after 23 years of owning it) is:
i)your hearing
ii) Anyone on your right (Brass flinger for sure)
iii) Anyone forgetting to utilize the safety may lose a finger or, thumb!

Super accurate rifle and, unique to show off!

I bought mine at a local auction when I was a kid...lot of teasing for "that 'ol thing".
