Dear John

I just recently bought a sks rifle combo from Marstar and John responded Fast and was awesome. I had my new rifle in my hands in just over a week. I love my new rifle and would recommend Marstar for sure he got +1 trader rating from me:D

While where talking trader ratings and dealers, do they not give a rating back as I have also purchased 4 guns since Sept. from two dealers and have not received a trader rating from them. (Not that I care just wondering is all. I figure they're probably too busy to have time for that stuff anyhow)

I honestly don`t know where he (John) finds the time to piss so many people off. If I had two cents to rub together, which I don`t, I would consider doing a mystery shopper type thing to find out for myself.

Yes it is the ONLY way to be sure you are indeed a gunnut. You buy guns from supporting dealers and individuals in the EE.....
Unless there is some reason you have NOT been given access to this feature of CGN.......
Still waiting........

I have made a couple of purchases from one of the dealers in the dealer forums.

I went to their place of business and bought what I had called them for. However, I didn't ask them to contribute to my trader rating and I didn't contribute to theirs. I didn't think about it.

I imagine that others may do the same. They see a deal on CGN and call the business. If the business is local, the buyer goes to that place of business and purchases the product. The trader rating may never even come up.

Many dealers/sponsors don't give a trader rating and many people are just buying from dealers, so the low trader rating from the OP is explainable.

I don't get it.

John has ALWAYS answered my e-mails, sometimes a few days later but they are answered nonetheless.

I have ordered LOTS of stuff from Marstar. Always got it.

Even bought a POS Norc Hi-Power knock off. They took it back, credited my Visa and paid for return postage.

I call John fairly often, usually to get him to pay for a free lunch. Most time I can get him first try on the phone. Many times he picks up the tab for Chinese food!

If "I" have an issue with a vendor, I usually either e-mail or PHONE the vendor and the issue gets RESOLVED.

Posting piss-assed whiny "poor-me" threads is a total waste of bandwidth. What is the purpose? Pity? Re-enforcement that you are a wiener?

Got a problem?

  • Send an e-mail; then
  • PHONE the vendor and if no resolution in possible; then
  • Contact a lawyer and take it to court.
Posting a simple customer service issue on a public forum is a monumental FAIL.

What? Deal with a problem in an adult manner?

CGN desperately needs a Whine Forum. It could be structured like the EE or Off Topics. Have to apply for access. It could be set up so that any netwhiner who starts a whinethread is permanently trapped in the purgatory of the Whine Forum and is never able to escape.

Nah.

I will just deal with a vendor that looks after their customers and leave Marstar to the self proclaimed cool kids that just coincidentally can't afford to deal with better suppliers.

Wow Filthie! 6 Bumps and it still didn't sell? Maybe it's your attitude that's not "Selling Well Here Either". LOL :p

GLENFILTHIE;
Well at least we have never been suspended or banned....
Come on JM have you nothing better to do, get a life....

John

Haven't said anything about you that isn't true. Just giving you what I got from ya. Who is the whiner now?

I can forgive anyone a mistake, chit happens and people are human. But you? You're arrogant. You treat your customers poorly and when they b*tch you call them liars or names. What goes around comes around I guess. LOL - I will let this thread go; but look for me again on the next one!

Shouldn't have to wait long...

Probably worth bringing this thread up again.

P.S. I've dealt with Marstar once, bought a crate of S&B 7.62x39 ammo. It was like dealing with a blackhole - I filled out the form and e-mailed a scan of a PAL, and... nothing happened. Then about 10 days later I got home to find a green crate with orange 1.4 explosives sticker sitting on my front porch, in plain view of entire street.

That's when I decided that buying a ammo from a local gunsmith/store is cheaper - might cost 10$ more then Marstar, but I don't have to pay shipping, I don't need to think about someone noticing a green crate on my porch and calling the cops, or better yet stealing it, etc. Oh, and being able to actually talk to people is kind of nice too...

And then I realized that.... Marstar doesn't have in stock anything I want. *sigh* There are lists and lists of things, but what's listed is out of stock. Great example is mil surp ammo. For how long 7.62x54r was out of stock? It's back in stock, but for about a year it was listed. 7.62x25 TT is out of stock. Why was it listed? Or hard cases from that one off deal in 2006?

So yes, I can be an apologist for Marstar with all the usual excuses - one man show, customers are all idiots, large LEO contracts, military adviser to Upper Wolta army, whatever. But reality is that having a computer system that tracks availability in real time is not that complicated, and a bunch of pre-made POS/Web site software exists, that just needs to be populated with data (expensive part). Hiring a person who actually replies to emails within a day would be nice (heck, install one of the ticket tracking systems, so that anyone e-mailing would get back a "We got your question, your ticket # is so and so, we will follow up on it shortly" AND THEN FOLLOW UP ON IT). Heck, hiring a second person, who would free up John from having to police CGN forum and would answer phones, and who would have a bit more finesse in public relations would be nice too.

I suspect that following up on and implementing just one of these suggestions would both increase sales and lower John's frustration levels.....

Marstar is the Walmart of gunstores, you don't go to Walmart and expect great customer service. And for the fan boys, John is making money here, he's not doing this for his health.
