Canned hunt. She handles rifles like she's afraid of them and who goes hunting with a rifle that isn't sighted in? "Does it kick?" I don't know, does it matter? The video you posted is heavily edited. She empties the clip of her dad's 25-06 missing every time. Daddy even had to cycle the bolt for her. The video scope picture they show just before the kills leads me to believe that she didn't even shoot the caribou - someone else (with a video scope) did. This was just a publicity stunt.

What kind of bou stands still while you shoot 6 times at it? A farmed bou...

Regardless! Farmed or not she is out there promoting our sport and putting a positive spin, on guns, and hunting!

If her show encourages even just a few women, or young people to get out shooting or hunting then I thank Sarah Palin for what she has done!

She has probably contributed more to promoting gun ownership, and hunting then most people on this site ever will!

Saw that video a few days ago and there is so so so much wrong with what went on during her "hunt". She is trying to portray herself as a hunter, what she has done is shown that she is a fraud and a hack. But also hot!

she's a fraud because she shot and missed???? to me it looked like a first time hunter making typical first time hunter mistakes.

Tough crowd to make happy. We finally get guns and hunting on a mainstream program with a positive light cast upon it, and you guys ##### because she is clearly a green hunter.
 
The problem is she is portraying herself as a seasoned hunter,and clearly she has barely if EVER f**king hunted before. That is just flat out lame and makes her look like an idiot.

No. She is a fraud because she has repeatedly claimed to be a seasoned hunter. This video shows that she is not and therefore that makes her a fraud.

Every seasoned hunter that I know sights in the rifle that they use BEFORE they take a shot on game and they also know how to load and use their rifles properly. She didn't even cycle the bolt!!!

She should have done at least 1 afternoon at a range with the rifle that she was going to use on the hunt.

The only thing more incredible than this video has been your criticism of my comments! Amazing!

No, I b1tch because she LIES and still garners support. The only thing worse than a politician who tells you they have plans for gun control or some other crap is a politician who lies and flaunts those lies in the face of "fans" and voters who support her because she's hot enough for those lies to still be swallowed.

How do you know her real position on anything if she's going to be such a blatent fraud as to bill herself as a lifelong hunter to milk votes and then demonstrates that she's full of it? Not only a greenhorn which is no criticism (except that she lied about it) but unethical enough to risk wounding that caribou so flagrantly.

She's a politician - I couldn't care less what her physical appearance is.

It really bothers me that she has a fan club made up largely of supporters who will vote for her because they only see and hear what they want to.

Wake up - she's an idiot who lies to her voting base to try to get into office and she's clearly not to be trusted. Nothing hot about that in the slightest.

My other offence taken to this video is that there is nothing to it that I'd like any anti to think is a demonstration of what real hunters think is responsible behavior by an ethical hunter. Any ethical and responsible hunter I know would know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if they cannot hit what they're aiming at (whether it's the rifle's fault or the shooter's) to stop shooting and figure out what's wrong before they wound an animal unnecessarily. I have no idea what's wrong with her father for just sitting there helping his daughter make a fool of herself and the sport of hunting - unless that was the point. My father would have slapped me across the face by the third shot and told me I didn't deserve to take another until I'd screwed my head on right.

The fact that she bang, bang, bang'd away with that damn 25-06 just hoping she might hit an animal is demonstrating something responsible hunters should detest. Responsible hunters do our sacred passtime a disservice by looking at these videos as advertisement of anything other than what not to do!

As far as I'm concerned there's no difference between what she did in that video and some urbanite rambo wannabe road hunting without a tag for antlers. No Difference at all.

I agree that we have a bunch of buzzkills here. A POLITICIAN goes out caribou hunting and shoots and kills it herself. Yes she should have had her OWN rifle instead of borrowing her dad's rifle that he fell on and knocked off zero, but she did drop it with the first shot of the other rifle she picked up cold. Did she complain about the loud bang or the recoil, or did she keep trying? She's obviously done this before.

And the rifle was knocked off zero, unknown to her. #### happens. Equating her with a rambo road hunter is a completely unfair analogy. She was out walking the tundra.

Plus, she drives Leftoids MENTAL with rage!
 
You guys are amusing. Sarah Palin's a joke but if she shows there are still hunters out there good. No she's just a 45 year old woman, and yes Caribou are some of the dumbest ungulates going, not a canned hunt. I've followed Caribou down a clearing for more than a kilometer. At any time they could have exited into the bushes on the sides, but instead, they keep trotting for awhile straight down it, relax after a bit and stop, then remember I'm there and following and do the same thing on and on. They survive through shear numbers and herding instinct, and cold weather ability.

How many Caribou have you hunted, there in Winnipeg? Perhaps you go North and didn't mention it, I'd just like to know the number of Caribou you've taken to understand your experience on judging a farmed Caribou.
 
Her father is a hunter, she grew up the daughter of a hunter....she respects and understands the sport.

I don't care if she only hunts once every 10 years, it is in her blood. She is not lying when she tells you that it means a lot to her to spend time outdoors with her father, she knows how much the sport means to her family. To mention Nuge takes balls, more power to her.

I've seen Inuit come back with 20 or more caribou behind their sleds just piled on. They just shoot until all of them are dead. Caribou are dumb animals that just don't run away. They aren't like a whitetail. "Mentally", I would say they rate around the same smarts as a prairie chicken....
