I want to get a new bolt soon. I'm working out of the country and don't have the resources to go and fondle the following rifles. My family wants to get one for me for christmas so I was thinking about just ordering one. I want a 30-06. Also, what is the difference between the M70 spoter and Super Delux in regards to functionability and accuracy? Which would you get? I'm kinda leaning to the M70. How solid do they feel? I like the Sakos but #### they are expensive.

Pre 64 Model 70
Browning A Bolt
Winchester M70 Supergrade
CZ 550
Sako 85

You could spend the rest of your hunting life carrying any one of those rifles and never regret the choice. I don't think there is any reason to pick one over the other except your own personal preferences for whatever reason you have. Pick one and go shooting.

I'm in the market for a new rifle as well. I've handled every major player on the market, right from the 500.00 ones up to the supergrade and abolt.
In my opinion the choice is only between the new winchester m70sporter, or supergrade, or a browning a bolt medallion.

By my eye, every other rifle I handled pales by comparison to those two. A surprising number, irregardless of price made me think, "cheap crap".

Near as I can figure the winchester supergrade is winchesters equivalent to the browning a bolt medallion. It's m70 sporter is more plain, but unlike the browning xbolt, the win. mod. 70 has a nice action and in my opinion is every bit as good as the supergrade, just not as pretty.

Personally I don't think the sako is worth the price. In my opinion the sako's price should be around 800-1000; the rest is name. Some of the popular one's made me wonder why anyone would pay the price when they could get a edge or xl7 for much less and they're just as well machined.

If you're leaning towards the winchester I think you'd be very happy.

I would consider a Savage for their AccuTrigger, and the ease of changing barrels with their barrel nut system. Great reputation for accuracy as well.

where is the best place to get a winchester super grade online? i don't think I have the courage to buy one without holding it first though. I know i like sakos but thats because I haven't seen much else. I'm not a fan of the browning actions as much as the Sako actions. I'm guessing the M70 will feel like a sako more than a browning.

"...what is the difference between..." Difference is the stock wood, the price and the chamberings available.

In addition the cheekpiece is different, the crossbolt is engraved, the sling swivels are inlaid, and it has a black forend tip and 2" more barrel

Wolverine has the CZ550 American with Kevlar stock in .30-06 on sale for $899. That is what I would get.

Boy, I'm not sure I'd say the win. feels like a sako, myself I'd say the win. and browning are very close to one another.
I'm a huge browning fan and I'm considering buying a winchester. (no small remark, as my wife about fell over)
To further qualify that statement, the sako it isn't even in my running.

If you don't like the browning action maybe you should wait and hold the win. before buying one to be safe?

When I get a 527 it'll be a Kevlar for varminting with, but my 550 will be Lux, just like my 452:

Nice little .22, I have a Brno 2E. I think the price at Wolverine is pretty good, not to mention that I'd take the CZ over the Wnchester any day of the week.
