I have the option of choosing my own gift this year and have been told the only criteria is that the gift must be something that I have wanted for some time but would not buy because it was, what I considered, a luxury when it comes to hunting and there were other things that needed some financial attention.

So, I have it down to two things.

A bradley 6 rack digital smoker...

Or a Savage smokeless muzzleloader...

I don't have a smoker at this time but I do have a Traditions muzzleloader already.

To add to the debate, my uncle got into muzzleloading this year and his buddy would love to jump in as well. Selling him mine at a very discounted price would expand the sport and bring some good karma my way for next season (fingers crossed).

So, what would you choose and why?

I voted smoker, as since I bought a smoker a couple yrs ago I am simply amazed at how much we both use, and appreciate having it.

I've even taken up making our own hams and bacon, and boy, is it good. Not to mention all the wild game that goes through ours.

Broke the tie. HAHA

Can't go wrong with the smoker. Bought one last year and it is absolutely amazing. Set it and forget it. did 200 lbs of deer sausage with it last year. Put a batch on in the morning before work, come home after work take batch off and put another one on and before bed put another batch on. You can't beat them.

Get the wife to buy you the smoker. Have "Santa" get you the ML...

This works for me every Christmas. This year, Santa came early & gave me a Sig P226R 9mm, Savage 111 .308, Rem Mag Exp 12 gauge & a few thousand rds of ammo.

Get the smoker cause if everyone around town has a Savage there will be way less big deer in 20. 47 grains of imr 4759 and a 250 grain TC shockwave in a crush rib sabot shoots into an inch with both of my 10ml's and most of my friends and is 18" low at 300 yards. The answer for those nice whitetails that lay in the stubble fields and think they are safe from hunters.
