It's time to spend a little money again. I'm in need of some new winter hunting boots. I'm looking for suggestions in the Waterproof and breathable types, prefferably 10" high, w/o any odor holding materials (leather).
With 100's of different kinds out there its hard to make up my mind.

Matterhorn Gore Tex bout all I wear.

Can get them anywhere in the country and come in almost all imaginable sizes.

They dry VERY fast over your camp fire too!

I look to what people are wearing who work in the bush, up here, more than half of them have Dunlop Thermos. They're the standard oil rig boot, foamed rubber gumboot, can be had well under $200. With Bama socks, you're good to go even in -30. Equally good when marsh mucking in the fall as they're true gumboots, and no liner or fabric to get wet or smelly, the insulation is built into the foam rubber of the boot.

Muck boots work pretty well I wear the ordinary obnes all winter but they do have some rated to -40-they are real easy to walk in also.

I've checeked out mucks, Im kind of leaning towards them, I hate having cold, wet feet as much as the next guy.

I'll let ya'll know when I decide

I would think a rubber-boot would do the best job NOT retaining any residual human-scents, if that's what you were refering to...

These are what most oil-rig guys wear, when it gets really cold they pull out the big guns (3rd boot)...

*get 1sz larger than you take & buy removable inserts for the rubbers, if they don't have them already (I can't remember)...

Baffin / -50deg / $190

OR...

Dunlop / -40deg / $200

Bad maa'ma jaa'ma Dakota -100 C Syntrol Diesel Resistant Hi-Vis / $200

Spend some money don't be cheap. I bought Mattahorns good boots but pricy. Cabelas Iron Ridge sale for about $90 with shiping to Canada they are $120 They are good boots on the budget

Choose Carefully. Nothing worser then cold feet while hunting

Ive got a pair of the last ones.....they are without a doubt the warmest boot I ahve ever worn, but all so by far the heaviest. Its like dragging a cement block around on each foot.

i don't know how many pairs of the dunlop boots i wore out working up north they do work i have personally wore em in -60 plus windchill my feet were cold but they did not get frostbitten

for myself i find the key to having warm feet in cold weather is to wear boots a size or two too big for you and just wear some good wicking socks

Irish Setter - Elk Tracker.

Warm, waterproof, breathable, good support, good traction, Norwegian welt can be re-soled with Vibram.

great boots. my last pair lasted 5 seasons of hard hunting. worth them guiding in the moutains when it was too cold for my meindles and lots coyote/shed hunting in the winter. a pair of OR crocs you are set for most weather out there.

I never cheap out when it comes to comfort. Its a toss up between some mucks or the Baffin -50's..

I've had Rocky brand boots for 2 years now...I have used in all weather and DEEP snow, walked through small streams and such. Great boots...they were around $150. they are totally waterproof, tough, have thinsalate to keep you warm in the winter but they still are breathable and give great support.
