just bought a tapco stock for my russian sks ,,, Any Tips Please

hey everyone

i bought a tapco stock from shooting edge today , just wondering if the stock is universal, between russian , or chinese, i have a russian sks ,but it says on the package ... for spike bayonet , if anyone has any tips on the install that would be awesome

Don't throw away your wood stock or any other bits you are replacing. Also, I would highly recommend you buy a Tapco gas tube and keep your original gas tube intact. I liked my Tapco stock, but I grew bored of it, and converted my SKS back into its original form. In the end, the unmodified SKS performed better than it did in a Tapco stock.

it has a blade baynet, but the package says for a spike bayonet.... is it gonna work or did they sell me the wrong tapco stock

you've got the wrong cut for the bayonet. don't worry about it though, its not a big deal. you have two options; try and return/exchange it, or just remove some more material from the stock so that it fits the spike. The blade cut isnt that long, but its deep. the spike cut is longer, but not very deep.

you could also remove the bayonet.
i just bought a tapco stock from fabsports. i ordered the stock with the
rail instead of a bayonet cut so i could put a vertical grip.

the gas tube cover can be a real pita to change, if you are not carefull you can easilly damage the gas tube while trying to bang out the rivet.
not recommended if you don't have a vise to work with.
