reloads in 1911

I just bought a box of cartridges second hand.
They are reloaded. They have just a plain
Lead blunt nose bullet.
Will these feed properly in a 1911?

They should feed no problem. Just make sure there is no lead flakes at the neck of the casing and they'll run smoothly. Then again you'll never really know until you try them. For what it's worth though, I shoot cast semi-wadcutters in my 1911 for the most part and rarely have any hiccups.

It is not safe to assume anything with reloads.

Do you know the person that did the loading?
Do you know that the powder is correct for the cartridge?
Do you know that the proper amount of powder is present?

Did you know that selling reloads is ilegal, unless the reloader has a commercial license to do so?
It is also contrary to CGN Rules for the EE.

ahhh, I have an 05 STi.

If you only bought one box, just set it aside.
You might want to look into reloading though.
After the initial cost, in the long run it might be cheaper for you to shoot.

put them on the side until you get a bullet puller(hammer type or collet type for a reloading press).
it's not worth it as you don't know what kind and how much powder is in it...

That's what I'd do. Pulling bullets is easy.

Close but not exactly.
Pull the bullets.

Dump the powder in your soil as fertilizer or burn it in piles of less than 1 pound.
With 3 boxes you probably have less than 1 ounce of powder.
It won't explode but burn rather uneventfully.

Fire the primers through your gun and then clean the gun thoroughly.
Primers are explosives and some are more sensitive than others so you don't want to toss them anywhere that someone else such as a brass recycler may injure themselves.

What is worst case? Damage to gun or injury to myself. Obviously I dont want to do anything that will injure me.
