They both go bang. They both (can be) pretty accurate. They are in no way, shape, or form similar firearms, except in the sense that they are both, indeed, rifles. - dan
Try to shoulder them both and see which fits you better. To tell you the truth, I see no real way to figure out which one you are going to get except to see which looks better to you. Obtunded, forgive me for this post if you don't agree...lol.
My 110BA shoots better than me. The uber rail mount gets loose and can be annoying. And people at the range with constantly Interupt your shooting to ask about it. Haven't held the TRG but it look equally cool.
To do what? Neither makes good boat paddles and I doubt you'd get lucky strictly because you owned either one. 300WM and 338LM are both brutal cartridges for cost of ammunition and loading components. Neitehr are good cartridges to learning long range or precision shooting.

They may be good LR cartridges, but they are uber expensive and can teach really bad habits to new shooters.
If they are braked decently, they are no tougher to shoot then a 308. Yes they are more expensive, 300 Wm not that much, 338 LM quite a bit. Start reloading, teach yourself a new skill. On the other hand, quite a few of the people who I run into that own 338 LM's don't reload, which strikes me as odd. It seems to be more about owning the powerful toy rather then learning to properly use the powerful tool. Meh, to each their own though. - dan
That is because reloaders have a practical mind, and truthfully, for any non-military use, it is impractical. Especially the 408 and the 50.
Dan and Drawblood I agree with you both. They are impractical and it also blows me away to find people buying 338 Lapua ammo because they don't reload. I think it's a compensation thing......... get my drift??? There are many shooters who enjoy shooting for what it is and then there are those machismo guys who just like "BIG AND FAST". I'll stick to my 6.5mm bullets thank you.

I shoot a TRG-22 in 308, primarily 175 gr SMKs. It sits on a Harris bipod and is topped with a Near base, Nightforce rings and a Nightforce NXS 8-32x56 scope. The Sako muzzle break reduces recoil significantly.
It fits me well and shoots better than I do. I've won matches with it against rifles costing twice as much. The 10 round magazine is perfect for precision matches, but they are expensive.
Never had an issue with the TRG and have put over 2000 rounds through it. Very solid and accurate rifle.
The guy could only carry two. There were like five, but can you blame the guy for not wanting to walk up and down a mountain three times?
