Yah, no doubt. Maybe the Germans can combine the OICW with the G11 to create.... the biggest, boxy-est, blackest, plasticy, über box-rifle of all time!! And yes, it would be perfect for immediate deployment to Klendathu. The Colonial Marines will probabably buy a few for fleet deployment on the
Sulaco as well.

A force to be reckoned with though. I suppose if you add up all the parts you end up with a single soldier carrying 600 rounds of caseless ammo in 50 round mags; firing it out of a select-fire weapon with a ``target identification and optic system`` (sounds pretty fancy!

), topped off with at least 5 rounds of semi-auto fired air-burst grenades. The bugs don`t stand a chance!
Caseless helps keep the weight way down, apparantly.
It will likely be a frosty Friday in July before any of this comes to pass though. Most militaries (including all the NATO ones) are issuing rifles whose designs can be traced directly to the 1940s and 50s.
By the way, any of you ever look at the ``service rifle by country`` thing on Wikipedia? It`s actually pretty interesting for those like me who don`t live and die this stuff. The first link is by far the more interesting one.
