After looking more into them, I seen they require slim bushings. Not really compatible with a Norc. Damn!

well I saw a simular product that a gent made himself,
ht tp://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=268099
this guy had taken denim material, canvas and fiberglass resin and made a cool looking grips.
I think these could be constructed and carved the same manner.

Why would the shipping be so expensive? Do they only use UPS or something?

you should ask him
I sent numerous e-mails asking why shipping was so expensive never answered. He uses USPS, last I bought from him it was 26USD shipping and they call it "flatrate" enveloppe. But I have mags shipped from Tripp research with a flaterate box for less than 12USD.

When they had the black friday sale (all black grips on sale) I almost placed an order but cancelled my order when I was quoted the shipping, which is now >26USD
Don't get me wrong, they are awesome grips, the Alien design is one of its own and I wouldn't put anything else for practical use

Maybe their shipping is about 10-15 bucks more than it should be...but no one makes grips like vz. Just pretend the shipping is part of the costs of the grips.

I tried but it makes a total bill around 100$......... While if Brownells carried the ENTIRE Vz line, it would be much much less

x2

When you examine your new VZ grips :adult:, the price is immediately forgotten.

On the contrary, you'll start shopping for an additional 1911, just to enable you to justify buying another set of VZ grips.

After checking with Gunnar ar Armco, it looks like I should be able to grind down my current bushing a bit to fit these grips and still be able to swith back to regular grips without any problem if I later wish. I may have to take the plunge and order them!

You could always ask the friendly staff at Brownells for a 'special' order... it takes a few days for them to confirm pricing... and it might take a few extra days for them to get the product... Then they'll just add it to your regular order.

$36:eek: for a $65 set of grips and $13 slim bushing and screws. Thats for USPS Express, the only shipping option listed for Canadians.

yess ive had my eyes on these ones for a while they look awesome maybe after christmas when i have money ill buy them to try out. the color is pretty awesome too.

Got my Frags today. I will have to grind down the bushings a bit but installed them anyway to give an idea how they look. I think they look great. It kind of has the look of wood but the practicality of synthetic.

Here's some before and after pics.
