i went the other way- got a 5.5 redhawk- which was STANDARD barrel length, and standard pricing for a redhawk- i couldn't see the justification of the price increase for the "novelty" barrel- besides, this is a 44 mag, not a 357/38 and needs a longer barrel to "look " right- the 4 inch or thereabouts is best suited to the 38/357 series
i also went with the standard redhawk , not the super b/c i like the feel of the grip better-
and i can mount a rail on the 5.5- something you can't do yet with the shorter barrel- and irons don't "cut it" on the front sight anymore with my eyes
