Hey guys,

I've been having severe stovepiping once mounting up my SADLAK aluminum mount on my '09 Poly. Anyone else ever run into this problem and/or find a fix?

I have access to a large machine shop and was considering milling a greater bevel ( 3-4 degrees greater, maybe 0.060"-0.100" deep) off the surface directly above the bolt.

I think this would give me enough clearance and enough angle to solve the stovepiping. The rifle naturally kicks the brass high and forwards for some reason. Is there anything wrong with this plan that I don't currently see at the moment?

Is there an easier way? :D

I had the same issue with my Arms mount. The solution was to either trim a coil or two off of the ejector spring or replace it entirely with a US one.

:agree:
My thumb's turned blue after the last clinic that M14Doctor put on because of these new Norc's having such big springs.
If you do go down this route I got some 7.62 spring set's on the EE if you dont feel like cutting them.

Chinese ejector and extractor detent springs are longer than the rifle's design calls for.
Your description of ejection path tells me that a spring trimming will most likely solve the issue. Which would be preferable over milling the mount.
Disassemble bolt
Trim 2 coils from extractor spring and 3 coils off the ejector spring.
OR buy M1A springs from brownells

Hmm. Will I ever tire of making fun of Satain?

Probably not. :) Good thing he knows so much about M-14s and how to work on them.

LOL. I will get a pic of my bolt tool with zip tie for those who already own them and want to make life easier.
