My Yugo SKS just showed up in the mail today.
Thank you mister!
It has lots of cool gizmos :p
Couple of questions for the folks that know...
What's the lever on the receiver above the trigger for?
Is the lever under the back sight the gas tap?
Is the trigger behind the trigger for the grenade launcher?
Anybody have any grenades? JK :D

I gotta get some ammo for this thing! :ar15:

YEEHAW!!!

1st the lever above your trigger can be you safty lever or your disassembly lever which one?
2nd the lever by the gas tube is to take off the gas tube and the piston ***
3rd no you need special ammo for grenade launcher and it’s the regular trigger used to send the grenade to the air
4th NOPE A big NOPE
5th there should be a lever near your front sight that switches the firing option meaning 7.62x39 to grenade

which stickies in particular do you suggest?
I looked through them and none seemed to apply.
This is my first SKS btw.
is the Yugo the same as a Russian or Chinese?
it's not a vz58 as far as I know
I'm not interested in optics sights and mounts
the cosmoline has already been removed
it's not a russian sks45
or a chinese type 56
or a norinco type 97
I'm pretty sure the gremlin thing doesn't apply
don't really want to paint it
vz 58 optics won't help
vz58 faq maybe?
or maybe the vz 52/57 takedown sticky...

Maybe I should just buy a manual...

...

read the "how to" at the bottom of either the russian and the chinese SKS sticky , general operation of any SKS are the same . the yugo M59/66 is different only in the gas block area .
