actually I was talking to a guy at the military display at the stampede last year and he was saying that they are likely going to change to 6.5mm because it has more penetration power which enables our boys to compete with the 7.62x39's penetration power.

although that being said IF it happens, it will take forever for them to change calibers.

Canada is not going to be the country to force a new cartridge upon NATO, and we are not adopting a new cartridge until it is the new NATO standard.

Generally, the soldiers manning the displays for the public aren't there because of their outstanding knowledge or superior abilities.

Pandering to the public on a weekend isn't exactly a reward, if you catch my drift. Straight up BS being shoveled at you.

Most soldiers have only used 1 or two rifles of the same variant and know what they have been told of that particular make & model..

If they got a choice they would want a bus that handle like a Porsche and ride like a Lexus. Soldiers can dream too I supposed.
