Just bought a swiss arms special ,picking it up on Tuesday. Can the rear sight be removed from the receiver to allow the scope to be mounted on lower rings , Or does the rear sight assist in holding the scope mount , also will the 10 rd mags from the sig 550 fit the SA , Are the factory 5 rounds a blocked 10 rd mag , Do you guys find the location of the scope for your eyes good , or do you use a adj cheek piece , if they are avalible. Where is the best place to find acc for the SA , and is there any custom triggers for the SA , Has anyone removed the flash/brake and installed a custom brake for muzzle rise , if you watch the 3 gun ipsc , their 223 do not even lift , and it looks like they run the custom brakes , going to use the gun primary for coyote hunting , thinking bout a 2X10 scope so i do not have to adj the paralex , if the yote is running for his life, does not take them long to go from 100 to 300 yds , sorry for so many ???? any answer would be great.

You've got to lay off the coffee young man...;)

If its a diopter rear the sight is integral. Remove it and you'll kill the resale. You need it for the top rail attachment. Check Canada Ammo for reasonalbly prices mags and cheek pieces.

Suppers on... some one else can take it from here

Awesome. Wish I had extra coin at this time of year to get a B.S. Where abouts are you buying it from? the EE or a shop? Just wondering if there is even a store around belleville that carries them...

The drum can be removed without damage to allow a little more room above the rear sight housing.

Burris PEPR puts the scope in the perfect position.

I have a NF 2.5x10x32 on it now. No need to remove the rear diopter. CanAm has cheek rests for 30.00. You might not need it.

Bits and pieces can be had but are expensive. The trigger is quite good and there is really no need to change it, but thats a personal preference.

The "Black Special" has a rear sight that folds into the Picatinny rail. No problem whatsoever mounting optics. The front sight also folds away but they are really only intended to be used as back-up.

You are thinking of the Black Special Target. It has the full rail on top with folding front and flip up rear sight.
The standard Black Special has a rear diopter sight which is welded to the upper reciever.

Yes, my error. I was under the impression that the Target was the only version of the "Black Special". I have the Target although it is only stamped "Black Special" on the side of the rifle and not "Black Special Target".

I have both black specials, standard and the target model. For the standard model I bought bauer AR15 scope mounts for a 1.5x5 falcon scope. I use a AR15 flattop scope mount for the target model.

No better scope mount than a Larue LT-104 for a Swiss Arms. Period! Perfect height to clear the rear diopter, sturdy, not bulky, no sharp edges, bomb proof, quick detach to use your irons, and then immediate return to zero. Pay the extra few bucks and been done with it.
