Holy crap dutch, no way this pup is paying 1500 for a slug gun just on principle! I was thinking maybe 800 or 900, but that is just silly.

Is it just the barrell or does the receiver/bolt have a design advantage over other pumps?

the barrel is fully rifled and perminatly mounted in the reciever the magazine tube does not touch the barrel.It is basicly a rifle.
as far as price its the big game gun you likley use the most and you probably would'nt think twice about a 1500$ moose gun so get good glass on it too.

Got a 300 WM for rifle season and my 870 shoots under 5 inches at 100yds.

I hear ya though, I love the look of the thing too. But between the bow and the 870 I tag out usually so it is hard to justify. Works out to $100 a year for my life expectancy.

Sorry to make you sad, I am a cattleman - I look at cows like how many calves they will give me over the remainder of their their life - if the dollars and cents don't mean profit, they are hamburger!

But I have been bouncing different ideas around, like it IS an investment, my son will love it when it becomes his, look at all the ammo I will save and productive farming time "wasted" in the woods may be reduced!!

What is Ithicas reputation generally? Maybe that ? deserves its own thread?
