Benelli M4 - Where are they hiding?

I think it would be 5.

It would be up to you to plug it to 3 if you go hunting.

Said they had several in and out the door over the prior weeks, and more were coming in.

Federal firearms laws restrict semi-autos to 5 rounds. It is your provincial hunting regs that may dictate 3 round max magazine capacity while hunting. But Semi-autos can legally be purchased with 5 round magazines. Just be sure to plug as per your provincial hunting regs if you take it hunting.

Shooter's Edge in Calgary had them last month, not sure how much. I think P & D in Edmonton also carry them.
