For F/O class out to 1K, what scope adjustments work best, 1/8 or 1/4 moa ? What variable power rate ( min/max ) is beneficial with budget in mind.
Will coatings make a big enough difference in flare , contrast and resolution to be a must have ?

There is no such thing as a high quaility cheap scope. You may as well get over it.

You want as much power as you can afford, with the 12-42X56 Nightforce scope being the standard by which all other F-Class scopes are judged. 1/MOA is also much preferred. You are shooting at a .4 or .5 MOA V-Bull. Pretty hard to center on a scope that may only adjust to one side or the other of the bull with 1/4 MOA

I quite wasting money on cheap scopes a long time ago because you just end up spending more money in the end through upgrades. Nightforce, Leupold, March, and the high-end Sightron scopes are a good bet.

1/8 min. Smaller movements would be even better.

If budget is a concern, the Sightron SII Big SKY fixed 36X is a wonderful scope. You will use all the mag and no issue when the sun comes out. This is my backup scope and was used by a newbie to place 3rds at the Farky.

Solid tracking and optics for a decent price.

If the wallet will allow, I shoot the Sightron SIII 10-50X60. Tracking and optics comparable to scopes costing double the price and has features better then some big name products.

Given the number that have been sold, you will see them in pretty much any F class match you go to in North America now.

Sightron has brought fantastic optics and tracking at pricing most any competitor can afford.

SHOT will be very exciting this year.
