Hello, I am looking at getting an m1 garand reciever and the seller is saying that all i need is a sarco kit to complete it however sarco is in the US and im in canada and obama is in power equals no fire arm parts for me. So is there any m1 garand kits in Canada

Many of the kits in the US came through Canada. Receivers stayed here. Rifles were not importable into the US.
Starting with a stripped receiver, and building up a rifle is going to require patience. It is also not likely to be inexpensive. There are lots of parts in an M-1. Also, the condition of used parts is an unknown.
M-1s have appreciated in value, but it could still be cheaper, and certainly would be easier, to just buy a rifle.

Sarco will not ship you a barrel. I found the service better at Numrich anyway. There are a surprising number of Garand parts floating around out there in Canada.

Numrich will ship you everything except barrel and bolt.

I'm going thru the same issue right now.I ended up finding a Springfield that some idiot had tried to drill and tap receiver with a hand drill to put a scope on it. I have a minty Breda receiver that I'm having all the parts swapped to. Do yourself a favor and just buy a complete gun. Its a hassle looking for parts. The junker Springfield has very good parts on it so I kinda scored. It took a few years to find this donor gun. Too bad numbnuts had to screw up a WW2 era gun.

Forgot to mention. I'm already into the rebuild about $400 and that doesn't include getting a new stock (buddy bubba'd the stock bad too)and a few bits and bobs to finish it. I figure if u csn find a decent Garand for $650-800 you will be ahead of the game.

You would be although it can be tough to find one in that price range. The ones that come up on the EE tend to be around 1k.

Yes the unfortunate part is people that own them up here see what they are going for in the United States. Keep looking you will find one. Or buy a stripped receiver and start looking for parts slowly. I think every gun locker should have at least one Garand.

The sum of the individual parts nowadays is at least $1000. Some key component prices; new barrel-$300, stockset-$125, receiver-$100, op rod-$100, trigger housing-$125, gas cyl assy-$100, rear sight assy-$70, op rod-$100, bolt assy-$100, then there are the various mag well parts and other bits and pieces. Adds up fast doesn't it?

They do add up to an expensive gun. Then reparkerizing etc. But that's the joys of living in 2011. If u want the cool guns you have to pay. That's why if you see something at good price grab it now cause its just going up.

Agreed. Those Garands are going to only appreciate in price, and more and more guys will be holding on to them. They come up for sale here and there, so I would just grab one and enjoy it.They're hungry sons of bithes tho, I'd start reloading for it.
