Ever heard of a dillon 450?

My notes are above..
the 450 -> 500 conversion is a new frame and tool head..

the 500->550 gives you the new primer system & powder system

Sorry bout the miss quote! So the frame and tool head (450 to 500) is for faster cal change overs and the (500 to 550) is for faster, cleaner production if I understand correctly.

I looked back on your notes. After looking at the ad for the parts it is a lot clearer to me. If I get it for a good price I can start with the 450 and add a part here and there as I go along.Thanks

Midway told me they did not allow email addresses out of the U.S. so I couldn't even order from them directly. Don't know about Cheaperthandirt.

Another alternative, if you want the Lee Classic Turret/accessories you could probably buy/order the whole kit, less dies for less Can$300. I buy small Lee items from Reliable Gun in Vancouver and they order from the Lee distributor in BC.

I will call Reliable to order a Lee .40 Lube and sizer kit so will inquire on price for the Classic Turret.

I just checked on-line with the Lee Factory Sales distributor. See link below. They do ship to Canada. I registered and tried a dummy order. They ship to Canada and costs about US$28.00 to ship a Press. Not bad.

A brand new Classic Turret is only US$95.00 and even if you added the Powder Measure and Priming tools, total is less than US$200 shipped. You can even order Lee dies and total still cheap. Of course Canadian duty is extra, probably 12% since you are in BC.

FYI, I use a Dillon 550B (18+ years), Lee Classic Cast Single and Lee Loadmaster. Am happy with all of them.

Have you considered a RCBS Piggyback for your Rockchucker press? I own several Piggyback II's and like them very much. I don't use the priming feature on them (or my Dillon Square Deal), preferring instead to use the Hornady hand priming tool. Stacked primers in a flimsy metal tube make me real nervous.

Don't know if it is directed atme , but I have Rockchucker press, does the Piggyback make it progressive somehow?

i see you live in Kelowna. if you do decide to purchase from the states consider shipping to a warehouse just on the other side of the border (i use betta's services in Oroville) you will save yourself huge brokerage fee's this way which can sometimes be as much as the cost of what you purchased

i say if you can get the press for 200 it is an ok deal, any more and its not worth it as a brand new 550b is only $469 at dels in vernon

a turret press won't be much faster than the setup you have now. how much pistol do you shoot?
