A NP-22 Review.

Well as i've posted before, My NP 58 is about the same but looks like mine is a little better refined for some reason. No machining marks on the end. And very minimal on the inside. Yes trigger was super tough in DA when new but i just stored it cocked and it gave way. I've Never had a FTF or FTE with 1500 through so far and i'm just getting ready for IDPA. Mags are pretty decent actually but the grips are a joke. I couldn't be happier with this buy. Shoots great. As i get better...so does it! Yes i know it was better first...thanks!
I also noticed my trigger is way thinner? And the grips on the NP 58 are super shinny and feel like they might shatter in your hand, different than the other models it appears.

My NP22's DA trigger is somewhat stiffer but my SA seems almost too light....
Oh and my NP22 came with VERY LITTLE cosmoline. I took the entire thing apart and wiped it down with a cleaning cloth. Unless it's leached into the metal itself I was quite surprised. I've seen Norinco's with almost a bag full.
One thing weird though is a gold coloring on the bottom inside of the slide? It looks like rust....

RANGE REPORT:
Went out to the range with a friend and dumped a lot of projectiles down range. From 10 and 15 yards the gun was DEAD accurate. Bullet holes touching each other within the center.
At 25 yards though, the gun was shooting 2 inches to the left for both myself and my friend shooting in different positions. Im left handed he's right handed.

My Dlask sig clone has a 19lb 1911 mainspring in it shimmed up about 1/8". It's about as light as I can go without FTF's and the DA trigger pull improved significantly over the heavy stock spring. There are a lot of potential contact points between the frame, locking block and trigger bar in the sig layout, de-burring and polishing the trigger bar might help with smoothing out the pull.

I've been doing some research on this matter.
I have found a very useful guide, it will void the warranty though.
I will post my findings after I do a very light polishing of the internals.
I don't know about this.
I've fired about 300 rounds so far.
Comparing it to the NP-34, the NP-34 is still buttery, whilst the NP22 is raunchy (in a bad way). Perhaps you are getting acclimatized to it.
Also I've had about 2 failures to eject (out of about 300). I'll hotrod the ammo to see if that does anything.
That's good to hear, my friend has a NP-58 and he has nothing but good things to say about it. His experience is pretty much the same, zero failures with factory ammo.
My Np-22 is OK, but just Ok, compared to the NP34.
Np-34- approx 2k rounds down the spout with 0 issues. The trigger feels like it is a target pistol. Fitting is ok but could be better. Accuracy is quite good, perhaps slightly behind my Hi-Power.
NP-22-Already 2 failures to eject out of 300 rounds. Tisk-tisk.
Fitting is a lot looser than the NP-34, accuracy is also a bit lower.
Let's hope this thing gets better.
I suspect that Norinco learned things during the Np-22 build that they incorporated into the NP-58 and 34. Those front serrations are a nice touch.
My ultimate wet dream would a np34 with a rail and regular length barrel.
Now that would be something.
When I first got it it was near impossible, now it's decent enough my grandmother was shooting it DA.
Sorry to dredge up and old post, but I have a comment on the finish of the slide. It's true you can see machine marks on there, but those are as simple to remove as running the slides through your run of the mill tumbler before final finishing. I used to work at a company that made handgun slides and that is all they did. I have a few slides that are pre-finishing that look just like that norinco slide. I'm very surprised that the Chinese makers would skip such a simple step as tumbling with the right media. It would really improve the looks.
But I really like the NP-22 all the same. I think there will be one under the christmas tree for me =)

well took it to the outdoor range today, 200 hundrend rounds later and I couldnt be happier.
not a single jam, misfeed, anything wrong at all, 100 win 147 gr FMJ, and 100 lead RN reloads
really accurate at 25 yards!
