Meeting place for Newbies and Mentors - Maritimes

Another Newfie here joining the fray. Located just outside St. John's, C.B.S to be precise. Have hunted and had firearms ever since I was 16 and am a member of the SJRGC. Feel free to get in touch about firearms, hunting, or anything for that matter. Take care and keep the right side up.

Just moved to Bedford, NS and recently passed my RPAL and got my card, I am looking to learn more about handguns and find a local club with members who are willing to show me the ropes. I am willing to pay for the ammo and buy coffee :D

I currently have only long guns and have spend most of my time shooting clays and plinking, so I have some shooting experience.

Hey..

Bill here is PEI wondering if anyone's been to MacAdams store in NB wondering how much reloading stuff they have? I need a starter kit and 38/357 dies

You mean the Gun Delaer in MacAdam. Never been to his store, not sure on reloading, but he is a wholesaler to most of NB, NS, and PEI shops. But only to the shops that can stand to deal with the guy.

Was there a couple of years ago. I phoned first and they put a bunch of reloading supplies aside for me. Of course once I got there I ended up buying a bunch of other stuff too! I enjoyed dealing with them. :) I've since purchased three firearms by phone from them. No problems :D

They're great to deal with, and keep a good stock of components.

Hey everyone, figured I'd say hi. I live near Halifax, shot quite a bit about 10 years ago, then got out of it, just in the last few months I've decided to start shooting IPSC.

I am a member of the Musquodoboit Valley Rifle and Revolver Club, just purchased a Glock 17Gen4. Any other Glock fans around the maritimes? Seems like there isn't a big presence here yet and I'm curious to see if there are any Glock armourers around in case I ever need one.

Hi, I am in Nova Scotia and am a bit confused about the process for purchasing a hand gun. I have a current PAL(R) and am in the process of joining an approved gun club. This is where the confusion enters. The gun is in Newfoundland and this will be my first restricted firearm purchase. Any clarification on the order of procedure for dealing with the registration, obtaining an ATT and expediting this purchase would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks;
Earl

where can i buy a glock in nova scotia? specifically in the halifax- yarmouth area?

The Army Navy Store might have some inventory.
Hnatiuk's might have some inventory.
Freedom Ventures doesn't have a showroom, but they might have some inventory and will arrange to meet you at an AMA range.
Finearms is another (no showroom) stocking dealer in Halifax who might arrange to meet you at AMA.
