What's with the OFAH chick on Wild TV?

I don't know your Simcoe regs, but in B.C., there is a Fraser valley special area where you need an extra licence and have to have liability insurance as well. The BCWF insurance is one way to be covered, but if you have personal liability insurance with enough liability coverage, it is acceptable also. I would expect the Simcoe county requirements are the same - Proof of liability insurance not just OFAH insurance. But I could be wrong.
Okay, I'm am going to ask a really stupid question here guys, that I will immediately regret. But why does any one taxpayer need another license or membership to hunt on what I think is crown land?

Money grab maybe????

I seem to recall that the requirement to be an OFAH member to hunt in Simcoe County Forests was brought about when a dog walker got shot a few years back.

There was a trade-off, total hunting ban vs. hunting with OFAH membership.

All driven by liability insurance. You do have to carry your OFAH membership card as proof, should a CO or Cop ask.

There are other Conservation Areas, which are Provincial (but not a full Park) that require OFAH memberships as well.

Can somebody/anybody post a link to this vid??I'd like to know what alll the hub bub is about??

Sorry, don't have a link, just saw it on WildTV.

Just getting ready to go snowshoeing at a Simcoe Coutny Forest, found this info while looking up some Geocahces to check out.

"Unlike Crown Lands, Simcoe County Forests are privately owned and managed by the Corporation of the County of Simcoe and it is only through permission from Simcoe County Council that the public may enter and conduct permitted activities. There is no “right” for the public to access and use these lands, rather it is a privilege."

It's a OFAH/CFC joint ad. She basically goes on about how proud she is to follow all gun laws like registration. I follow gun laws because I don't want ot go to jail, but I am ashamed that we have such laws in Canada.

I wonder how much it would cost to have the NFA put a commercial on there showing the truth about the firearms laws.
