Is pistol silencer regal in Canada?

check spelling indeed. Are you gent's drunk?

Any while you're at it, check your capitalization and punctuation. There is no occasion in the English language where one uses an apostrophe for a plural. I.E. it's "gents", not "gent's".

Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled, albeit wandering, thread.

I think FAKE, NON-REPORT CHANGING MUZZLE DEVICES are regal. I am thinking of making such a device purely for looks.

NON-FUNCTIONING SUPPRESSORS. Just a vented tube that looks cool.

Is this regal?

I was answering the question. Others were just making fun of the poster who can't write proper english (like many others). Not everyone is educated on this board.

Also I have a friend who speaks perfect english, but was born elsewhere and he can't write proper english. Just the way it is. Also most young kids today only practice while texting. Only going to get worse.

I wonder if a home made pistol silencer or a store bought pistol silencer is legal in Canada?

Merry Christmas~

*Sorry, I meant legal, not regal. There was a typo.

This is one of those typos that can become legendary and you will not be able to live it down.

This being said, Yes, they are Regal in Canada. If Prince Charles visited and he had a silencer, I'm sure that nobody would say "whoof" to him

Not making fun of the OP, having fun WITH the op. A simple typo.... not a big deal and some clever comments from it.

Suppressors are so evil you'll go blind just thinking about 'em.

I hope not or I don't have much time left. :O

I was watching "CSI" and a guy used a potato for a homemade a silencer! Not sure if it works well or not, but potatoes are cheap! Somebody go try it and let us know!!! Also if the movies tell the truth, a pillow.

Potato does not work well. Pillow or thick blanket does work. Pop bottles work well but are caliber limited.

I would like to point out that other countries like new zealand ,france and even England (yes even them)allow suppressors to be owned and even encourage their use as a good neighbour policy in reducing noise pollution and hearing loss as a health concern.
However as far as you are concerned, the government here doesn't trust you or care about your health.

Canada is almost the only G8 nation that does not allow civilians to own silencers. In that way we are well behind the rest of the world.

No, it wouldn't be regal. Regal status requires a bit more than a vented tube.

Whether it is legal or not depends on what you mean by a vented tube and how it would be situated on the barrel.

Sounds like you did some experiments!!! What I saw online was a Pringles can, 3 water bottles, toilet/paper towel. Pretty interesting. 3 sections of chambers like a muffler. Too bad doing this will still put you in jail because they're illegal. Even with stuff out of your garbage/recycling.

I'm thinking putting anything not perfectly made in front of the muzzle is a very bad idea, with some bad consequences possible. Best not to attempt. Leave it to the clowns on youtube.

Could we say that Canada is SO RONERY?

One of the funnier threads, made my day.

The gsg 1911 tactical comes with a fake suppressor.

someone has to explain to me what use a fake supressor has, other then potentially getting you in trouble and making you look phony.

...I just don't get it.

it has no use, is not illegal and makes you look like a an assain when you go to the range. I'm not badmouthing them. it's like asking the guy with a 20 inch loft on his truck "why" 9 times out for 10 the truck will never see the trail and not need it. they add it "becasue they can". and that my frineds is the canadian dream. the question isn't why, it's why not!

why not? well, for starters, because as opposed to a lift kit on a jeep, suppressors are illegal, and therefore the very fact that they make you look like an assassin is in my books NOT added value...its added risk to get in trouble. No need for more reasons.

3 things can happen when you decide to get a fake suppressor :

1 - a few think you look cool
2 - most will think its useless and don't see the point, and will judge you
3 - someone will get scared and call the cops on your ass

So thats 66% risk, outweighing 33% chance. speaks for itself

Fake suppressors are not illegal and that what what I was referring to. There are alot of fudds around here... personaly i think they're useless and i wold never want one... all i'm saying is so long at it's not il-regal who cares? so what if soemoe calls teh cops? so long as you're not doing anything wrong let them look.

Much like a 5/30 round mag for an AR or a CZ 858??

I have no use for them but as long as it is legal, I say go for it.
