I recently purchased a model shotgun and it came with 2 barrels. One barrel is a 28 inch 2 3/4 with a removable modified choke and the other is a 22 inch 2 3/4 and 3 inch slug barrel. The 28 inch barrel is off 1200 and the other barrel is of a 120 ranger? Should this be a problem? Another question,is it a 1200 or a 120??

The barrels are interchangeable, The serial number should tell you the exact model, someone may chime in and be able to supply more details. I don't know the differences if any which could indicate whether or not the receiver is OK for 3" loads.

ya your good to go with both barrels...as brewmech said the serial # will tell ya right away....or look at the trigger guard, if the trigger guard has a steady curve where the safety is then its a 1200, but if it looks more squared where the safety is then its a 120

If it's got the dark brown walnut wood it's probably a M1200. If it has a "hardwood" (ie: not walnut) it is probably a M120.

IIRC, the M120 was available only to the Canadian market, and was a economy model, with hardwood stock and less polished bluing.

Barrels are interchangeable. If the receiver is 2.75" inch it might not shuck 3" shells, regardless of what it says on the barrels.

The serial number is ahead of the loading ramp and it says magnum( If that makes any difference or not)...She has no problem removing 3 " shells from the receiver. I'll use 3 inch shells with the 22 inch barrel and 2 3/4 with the
28" barrel. The reason I got her is to use hunting sea birds(turrs) and I think to much of my super nova to use around the salt water. Thanks guys for all the quick replys.

Sweet. Thanks everyone. I got her from a place in New Brunswick The Gun dealer...Its my second gun from there. For 400 bux shipped to newfoundland I cant complain. If the weather clears up i'll probably put a box or two through her tomorrow. :D

Had one in college I bought from Canadian Tire in 1971. Flawless operation in an inexpensive gun. I think I paid $125 for it then. Wish I had never sold it!

I bought mine new in 1972 for $79. It was the Winchoke model with a plain barrel. I've still got it and i still use it regularly. It's got somewhere around 15000 rounds through it and it's never missed a beat.
