I have spent the past TWO DAYS sorting my brass. I had several small containers, bags, boxes etc spread about the house/workshop.

It all started innocent enough I think. I mean I reload 9mm for my kids and .40 for myself. I "PLAN" on reloading 5.56 at some point. I would pick up a handful and say......hey those 6 pieces of 9mm brass are like a quarter laying on the ground. If it were a quarter I would certainly pick it up.....so I would pocket said brass and think nothing of it. When I got home I would toss it in the pail with the ther brass.
I ignored the brass from the EESA Open House events etc as there were plenty of others who wanted brass..So I let them have it as there is plenty to go around.

My collecting forays pretty much revolved around dropping into EESA to see what was going on and finding some brass that someone had left behind.....so I "cleaned up".

A few weeks ago 7.62 mentioned that he was "low" on 9mm so I said I would scrape some together for him.........which started this whole episode of sorting.

HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH!

By my calulations I have about 60,000 9mm cases, 50,000 .40 cases.

25,000 38spl. 15,000 .223/5.56, 7.000 .45acp

WTF! How on earth did this happen!!

So here is my first step.

My name is Storm and I am a Brassoholic!!

(oh and I have a thousand or so "found rounds" that are unfired. I think I need to tear them down for their components. Maybe a new years project as I do not trust using them in my firearms)

Storm:
I'd say 2-3 more brass in in 9mm and you may be over the top. The only cure I see is to tumble and resize over a 2 month period. It may be the cure for your addiction.
Regards Tim

Well in that case I am SOL.

My darling wife noting my "cleaning up" just delivered 15, 9mm, and 12 .40 SW that were IN MY SOCK DRAWER!!

As for tumbling........the FOGDUCKER 2000 Tumbler has been going non stop these past 2 days. Some of the brass was recovered wet and was a sickly green. I still have about 4 gallons of assorted 9mm and .40 yet to be cleaned. Sadly I am out of media at the moment. That said the Fogducker 2000 has handled the volume with aplomb.

i could always use some .45 brass if you think you have too much :D

my wife has 5k worth of 9mm brass and i think that will last her about 10yrs estimating 2500rnds a year

all depends how much you shoot

i would probably sell what i would not use and by another gun with it

or more reloading components

Dude, you don't have a problem. You have an excuse. If anyone needs a Dillon 1050 with the P/W Autodrive and Mr.BulletFeeder, it's you.

Lets all join hands, c'mon everyone...
Mr. Storm has taken the first step, please join us as we have a moment of silence for this humble addiction. Thank you very much.
WEEEEEHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We have a lifer among usw:h::dancingbanana::rockOn:

I have around 200 lbs...yes, 200 lbs of unsorted brass out in the garage. God only knows how much is actually inside the house. We won't even discuss the bags upon bags of empty 12ga hulls I have stashed around here. JUST YESTERDAY, I left the brass barrels at the range alone. Man, I still haven't stopped shaking. The DT's are a b##ch !!!! :D

Congrats on admitting you have a problem Stormy. You and me brother....I guess we should exchange phone numbers for support purposes or something....ROFL !!!!!

It's time to start a support group here at CGN... :D

At least I know I am not the only guy who finds brass in his sock and underwear drawers. Makes me feel a bit more normal now. ;)

The thing that sucks is I need more powder again to keep filling that brass.

I just finished 15 lbs of R-15 in the last month loading 30-06, and I just used my last pound starting off my .223. I only got about 200 made up before I ran out.

I still have over 2500 .223 cases to load, so I guess I am going back out for another 20 lbs or so of powder, that should do me a few monthes.

Thank god for the 1050.

Hornady bullet feeder is on the way, and hopefully the rifle bullet adaptor will be out soon.

Hey Storm if you want to sell some or get rid of some I am always looking for more for reloading as you can never have enough IMO...:) I have lots of tumbling media if you need some I can bring it Tuesday nite....

hey it was nicked the foginator eh:p....as a matter of fact, named by you:p.......
btw if if you have some more 30-06 brass thats in excess to your needs, that you have to get rid of ..:D

ps...hows the bearings holding out on the foginator?

Yes the foginator it is.........I do remember I just misstyped!!

It is doing just fine.

I ran into a problem on Friday when the pulley on the motor worked loose.....

Mind you I think that there was about 15 lbs of brass running at the time.

I will take a look at my 30-06 inventory. I never really looked at the rifle shelves yet.......mainly taking care of the pistol and all the damned .223!

JEESUS!! i started in january and im up to 9 k 9mm and about 4 k of 223.... feel free to send some of that 9mm my way :D im know as the brass whore at my range spend any spare time digging through the brass bucket haha

I store brass in calibers I don't even own a gun for in 5 gallon cans. I can't go to the range without coming back with more brass than I shot.

To me, this is a motherlode

All this caused me to look at my stores, I just realized that I'm down to my last 15,000 .38 Special cases.
I'd better get to it Eh!:D
