Howdy folks,
I wasn't going to spend too much this Christmas, but... our local store is having a going out of business sale and I got a good deal on a rossi matched pair (youth) .410 / .22lr. Can't wait to try it! Supposed to go grouse hunting with a buddy shortly before the season ends. What do you all use for grouse with a .410? I've read that 3" hulls are a must, so I bought a box of #6 and #7.5.

Anyone else tried the rossi matched pair youth? Not looking for a target rifle, just something that's light and can take out a grouse at close range (15-20 yards max).

Cheers!

This type of thread without pics should be illegal :D

Haha, indeed it should! But,...I'm saving the pics for when I'm done making a wooden stock (full stock fore-end for the .22lr and a small one for the .410).

Could take a while before I make something decent...but still, it should be fun and look wicked.

I've never shot a grouse in my life, but i have a IGA backpacker .410 and a savage 24 in .22/410, and the .410 works on squirrel sized quarry out to about 20 yards for me :)
