If you want a deal, post a WTB ad stating what you feel is a fair price for whatever youre looking for, even ad it to your sig line. I'm sure theres quite a few people kind of on the fence about selling something, they just may bite. I'm always surprised how many pm's I get when I post a WTB. That and make reasonable offers to ads with ridiculous prices, because remember its always best to ask a little more than you think its worth and work out a fair price with the interested seller.
I disagree. If someone paid too much for their 858 they have no grounds to ask more than the normal going price for one new. Ones stupidity in over paying is no excuse to try and return the favor. Obviously these people haven't figured that out as their rifles are still for sale or have been bumped for months on end.

That may have been the case previously, but there are at least 4 or 5 site sponsors selling 858-2's and -4V's at $695-$699 plus tax and shipping. If I have the choice of a used (possibly well used) rifle for $650 or a brand new with warranty rifle for ~760 shipped, I will pony up the extra $110 to get a known quantity.
Indeed, many of those rifles that are listed for near retail prices often are sold at a significant discount that is not seen.
I disagree. I have watched some ads get bumped 4-5 times and then used that as leverage in negotiating a more realistic price.
Definitely. The new price sets the upper limit for what can be expected on the EE, even if someone bought one 2 years ago at an inflated price and is trying to recoup that.

I think it depends on the seller. If its a teenager (18-25) they sell expensive because they got the gun to show off its AK47 look alike. If its a stable man with an income etc. They will sell it for a reasonable price. I remember an 858 with 10mags the original stock and a black synthetic plus the other stuff it came with for $600. I was going to buy it but I didnt have my pal then. This was on another site tho.
lol, since when 25yo is a teenager ? i was making better money when i was 18 than when i was 26, so age of the seller has nothing to do with prices on here. you're right about the income level of the seller vs the price, but age has nothing to do with that anymore, older=more money isnt the case anymore. haha

Let me ask you this (to no-one in particular) if you seen a 2nd hand 858 on sale, and it did not have a tabbed bolt carrier, but worked just fine, would you expect the seller to discount that off the price? If you think things are 'over inflated' in price, you have the free will to seek another vendor. ( we are used to price gouging in Nova Scotia as well)

I dunno, I figured they're worth the price new, plus I don't have to worry about any form of damage, or amature mods.
Also, what with the liklihood of it only having been used to shoot corrosive ammo, I don't have to worry about rust, pitting or anything like that.

They are easy peasy to properly maintain even when shooting corrosive, but of course there are no end of Joe Mongo types who break and fcuk up everything they touch lolz. I am sure we all have known people like that.
