Just picked it up from the post!

The Winchester Wildcat Varmint.

Amazing rifle. Packed very well. The thing feels well built - but of course, time will tell. The reviews thus far have been mostly all positive.
It's not as heavy as I had expected. I suppose if you are carrying it for hours on end, one might appreciate something lighter.

The barrel looks great.
Came with a pile of magazines (nice touch)
Gun lock (nice touch)
Great instructions.
Nice wood stock.
Packaging was excellent too.

Now, I need some advice on scoping this rifle. I don't mind spending some money on something decent. I'm sort of a middle ground purchaser if you will.

Should I be looking at Bushnells 22 scopes? They are reasonable priced - or should I be opting for something a little more powerful?

The rifle will be used for target shooting - as far as the gun will shoot accurately. It is .22LR so I don't think I will be reaching out too far :)

Suggestions?

And yes, my cat likes to inspect my rifles. He approved, however did not feel it was a true "wild" cat. To each their own.

Ah, cats & cardboard boxes! Thanks for sharing the pics!
A Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 AO maybe? Good all around scope for rimfires.
If you like more mag, maybe the Legend 5-15, or Trophy 6-18

Look for Weaver #15 scope mount's and a set of low or medium scope rings. Also your scope that you can put on this bad boy should be atleast 10 power or more. Also adjusting the trigger is quite simple. Actually you will find a wierd looking key in with your part's. Once you've done this, 1 inch group's at 50 meters should be a brezze with any ammo.

I like the rifle, you can keep your cat, hanger, half-eat Toblerone and dirty sock though. :)

Kidding aside, congrats on the new rifle! The Wildcat is the only remaining .22 on my hit list. I have more .22s than I can justify at this point, so no rush. As for scopes~I just bought a Mueller for my CZ .17 HMR, and so far, I think it's excellent for the money. I like lots of magnification, but don't use higher than 9x on any of my own .22s.

Good luck, let us know how she shoots! (the gun that is)

Nice TOZ!!! You will not be disappointed when you fire it.

(hmm it also looks like it uses the same magazines of my TOZ99).

Good score, they're really good value. The trigger takes a bit of getting used to, there is a long first stage and the break isn't as clean as I like, but once you get used to it they shoot really well.

I just did the whole new scope thing, compared a bunch of different scope and wound up with a nikon prostaff. Make sure you give them a look.

I put a Tasco 6-24x42mm on my Wildcat and it's always set at 24X . I don't hunt and only shoot targets at 50 yards from a bench. I like high powered scopes . it's more precise and don't need a spotting scope , I can see my bullet holes without having to walk and check.
BTW my Wildcat just loves SK Standard Plus ammo

That looks fantastic!

What bipod are you using?

What mounts / rings did you use?

How much did you spend putting the scope on?

The bipod is a Harris S-BR 6" to 9"
The base is Hawke HM6144 medium height $23.00 I got from D & L
http://www.dlairgun.com/Mounts.html
Actually I've got 3 Hawke mounts ,the 2 other are on my Mossberg 144 with a Tasco 10-40x50mm scope and the other is on my Marlin 60 50th Anniversary Edition with a 6-24x42...of course!!!
The scopes come from Lebaron in MTL they are $89.94 and come with Stoney Point front and rear bags ( empty)
They are not the best but do the job ...for me anyway:)

Yes they work for me , they are very solid , as mentioned I have 3 sets so far . except on my Anschutz 1388 . that rifle ejects the case upwards so I can't use the full lenght Hawke base, have to use a 2 ring set on that rifle

It is good that your cat gave you the nod of approval. My cat was very easy to bribe into approving my investments (some cat treats and a belly rub), too bad she's not around anymore. :(
