Hey people, I was told on huntingbc.ca that I could mazbe get some better advice on here regarding the purchase of a nightvision scope in canada, so here goes:

I'm in the lower mainland now and was wondering if I can get nightvision rifle scopes here and how much that would cost?

Just to make sure I will explain that this is for use on our private property in Paraguay, not on crown land so we can be sure that there are no other people that could be endangered.

Feel free to pm or just answer on here if you got anything.

Thank you.

Interesting first post.

They are a dealer here. Night vision scopes are legal in Canada. If they were not you could not buy one in Canada and posting this question on this board would be of little use. You cannot purchase illegal or prohibited items from this site if you do not posses the proper licences to do so.

I for one would believe you are using this in a legal, safe way no matter where you are. Do a search on this topic going back a few months and you will find this question has been asked and answered before.

On a different note, strangely worded sideways type questions are generally frowned upon on this site. It makes the poster appear to be up to no good.

Sorry guys if I worded that post weirdly, I'll try to explain it better now:

I used to live in BC but moved back to Paraguay, where my family originally comes from, a year ago. Now I am on vacation back in BC.
My family owns a cattle ranch in the paraguayan outback and there are quite a few pest animals which are very hard to hunt at day but would be alot easier if you could see them during the night.
I have searched for nightscopes in paraguay with no luck, and since I'm in canada now, I thought I might be able to pick one up and take it back down there.

Thanks

Man you guys are paranoid

If it's not illegal, it's not illegal. It's up to him how he uses the device, even if he uses it illegally..... That's why we have police and I'm sure your armchair lectures aren't a major help to crime fighters.

Just out of curiosity Rackaholic, did you buy a pair of boots from Grouse River Outfitters last year?

I, for one, saw nothing sideways or weirdly worded in that post at all...

I would be a bit leery about e-bay for this sort of thing, especially since most sellers are American, and I wouldn't want to tangle with their DoS over what is almost guaranteed to be a high-dollar item... But night vision equipment does pop up on the EE from time to time, not sure if it's scopes or monoculars/goggles, as I've never really paid attention to them. You might just get lucky if you keep an eye out while you're here.

On a side note, if you need any help with these pesky critters, I'd be happy to help on my next vacation. That sounds fun! Would a .223 be enough?

Alright thanks I will be more careful in my typing next time

Not boots no, but a pair of binos.
I did order them online though, so if you mean that you saw me in the store it probably wasn't me, I haven't been inside their store.

Alright thanks, will try to keep my eyes open then.

A .223 is perfect, we normally use a .222 and a .30-30, they both get the job done fine on all kinds of critters :D

If your serious about the vacation feel free to pm me, but I cant guarantee a 5star safari hunting expedition

That is some beauty equipment those guys have in that video.. Too bad about the price tag, i would get that stuff in a heartbeat if i had the money :(
