No disrespect to those that own then, but McMillan is in another complete class of fit and finish, design, and build.
Your buying a lot more than a name.
I have a few older B&C stocks sitting in the closet (one with the recoil area collapsed under recoil) and would not give them away. The new version with the bedding block is OK, but the action should still be bedded to function properly. Even then the stock design is like shooting a club...With a high powered rifle the grip area is too tight and will smash you knuckle into the trigger guard...I still have a chunk of bone floating in my knuckle thanks to B&C....Look at sir_springer's second picture and you will see what I mean.
McMillan not only makes stocks to last a lifetime they have lots of different styles to choose from so you can get the rifle to fit you the way it should. The design you select will be perfectly executed.
Then there is the unconditional lifetime warranty.
I have seen guys fall off a cliff and break one, drive over one with a quad, another with a truck, blow up a rifle, and all got the McMillan treatment.
McMillan replaces it for free...No questions.
