Hey there, I'm not *entirely* sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'm looking to make my first firearm purchase. My local gun store does not have what I am looking for exactly, but I ran across this, looking around online, and was just wondering if anyone can tell me ANY information at all (IE has anyone owned one, good/bad points, etc.)

It's a "Stevens 350 Pump Security" Chinese made, warrantied through Savage, that's all I really know.

Thanks!

I handled one recently at Le Baron in Ottawa. It had rifle sights ( not ghost ring) and the stock fit me better than the very straight Remington one. This Stevens weighs 7.6 lbs ( about the same as the Remington Mariner) which should help to handle recoil if you're sensitive. I read on the net that since these carry the Stevens brand, they will back it up with their warranty.

I just bought one and put about 200 shells through it so far and it handles great. It's heavy enough to ease the recoil but light enough to carry all day. All in all for the price you can't go wrong, plus it is warrantied by Savage.

Stevens 350

I've got one of these with the ghost ring sights. Rebranded Norinco it may be and a Rem 870 it's not, but it is a lot better than the Win Defender and Browning BPS I used to own. The weekend after I bought it I put about 500 shells down the barrel and had no problems at all....other than with my shoulder the next morning (that's me getting old...no fault of the shotgun). All I can say of mine is the damn thing goes bang when I squeeze the trigger and puts shot and slugs where I aim it:shotgun:. What more can I ask of new shotgun that cost me under $300 all in.

I mentioned to the sales clerk that it was just a rebranded Norinco, he seemed convinced that the states woudn't allow the importing of chinease made firearms. I seem to vaguely remember that shotguns were prohibited.

Chinese made shotguns are allowed. Not handguns or rifles however.

I have a Stevens 350 and so far, she has ran great. Trigger pull is pretty stiff tho.

What made it alot better than the Browning? I've handled a few and they seem like nice enough guns and have a reputation of being a well built firearm.

Anyone shot slugs through theirs yet?Brand preferance that shoots better? Picked one up at P&D to use a a cheap bush gun and bought 6 types of slugs to try out and will give it a go when the weather warms up next week.

I wouldnt buy that gun if you are left handed as the safety sticks out quite aways when in off position. It could rip up your shooting finger real good.Does anyone know if the safety is reversible. The guy i know that owns one dosn't think so but he sure wishes it could be.
