So IPSC Ont is concerned with loosing Members to IDPA

Don't know about all you guys, but it is way too much stuff to carry for 3gun matches. I like the agility and speed of IPSC.

One of these days I gotta make it down your way to do some multigun. Of course I still want to try some IDPA too, so much to do so little time....

I would like to see one day a match with say 3 IDPA stages and 3 IPSC stages. Any IPSC or IDPA shooter can enter competition. It should be lots of fun and will help to understand each other.

It would have to be a non IPSC match as IDPA only guys would not be allowed to shoot it.

But it is a very interesting idea.......

I would of course add a single MULTIGUN stage

Hmmmmm

I wonder if we can alter our Zombie match to include this concept.

Your post proves you know NOTHING about 3 gun matches, rules etc.

Educate yourself before you post from now on.

John, you sound like your friend Vinny and my post proves exactly NOTHING. :D

My comment had nothing to do with 3gun rules. You can't get away to loading all 3 guns and the ammo to the car to drag them all to the range and then drag them around the big range too.

Git 'er going, and I'm in - there's 52 weekends in a year!

The line for all those volunteering to help starts over on the left...
Helloooo.... 'anyone there?

Didn't think so...

I've organized a few multi gun matches... All successful, but man talk about work. I'm sure guys like Storm' can attest that setting up and administrating any match needs more than two or three dedicated/crazy people...

To be frank... I don't know enough guys willing/able to pull it off and I'm too old to keep doing it all by myself.
'Easier for me to mail in my match fee, book a hotel and drive south to just shoot.

That said... I wouldn't say I'll never host another multigun...

I havnt done either yet, im doing the black badge course in Jan. I was told that IDPA was good in one respect cause it uses stock pistols not the pimped out ones that guys have in IPSC. I was at the range one day watching a guy who was at one time #4 in Alberta for IPSC. He must have had 30000 dollors worth of guns and parts there. He was slicker then ####, so im sure he could knock the lights out with a stock pistol as well. I just dont know enough about it all yet, but i find both sounding interesting.

You don't need all the fancy gear to shoot ipsc.
That stufF is for "open" div.
Shoot in standard or production...

Get yourself a Glock or M&P, Bladetech Holster, and some mag pouches......shoot both with that setup.

Just add ammo!

Have fun!

Nothing Easier, and you don't need anything more complicated than that to get yourself started, and putting smiles on your face!

If that were true I would have BANNED YOU for the fact that you disagree with me.

So your car is not agile with 3 guns and gear in it? What do you drive a YUGO?

My car once held 5 guys with all the gear for a 3 gun match and had not problems.......

Here is what YOU wrote.

Now to me that sounds like you are complaining that is too much for YOU to carry. The only competition I am aware of in which you have to carry all your gear including guns in the Ironman competition and that is the ONLY one.

So once again...........we are back to you displaying a lack of knowledge or needing a new car not to mention learning how to write posts with less chance for missinterpretation between you and your car.

i would love to shoot more 3gun but do not own a carbine as we are not legal for them at our club. i just shoot my action pistol and every once in a while travel a bit and borrow an AR

agree with the guys above - does not matter if you shoot ipsc, ppc, sporting clays, bullseye, trap, skeet, 3 gun, idpa, f- class, odpl, service rifle, nra action or whatever just get out and shoot. We should all accept others favourites and maybe give them a try - they are all fun in different ways.

Meh.

From a beginners IPSC perspective, the serious IPSC guys take the sport way too seriously and always want to compete, whereas the IDPA guys seem more content to just enjoy the sport for what it is and not be as competitive. From my perspective IDPA seems way more friendly towards newbies in the sport.

Just my .02 though, I may be wrong.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

In some 3gun events there is a division known as "Trooper" where you're expected to man-carry all your gear.

It's more "open" than open div. in that you can use just about anything but... you have to carry everything.. At least stage to stage... They don't expect you to carry three, four, five guns, all your ammo, food and water during a stage, but you gotta be able to carry it without assistance from one place to another.
Other than medical attention you're not to accept any help from anyone.

I shot trooper a few times, but then thought WTF...? Am I here to shoot or to play pack-mule...:D

When travelling to matches with my homies we usually took my UAMV (Urban Assault Mini Van)... This year I ditched the UAMV and replaced it with something better able to cope with the weight of our gear and our asses.

This years FB3G load-out... 2010 F1504x4 and our 3-gun strollers...:D

i and my teenage son enjoyed my 1st year trying out ipsc here in the maritimes, so far but kind of agree and have seen same attitudes as with the member below .
wed love to try idpa ( due to my law-enforcement backround )
but none within workable travelling distance.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS !!'
