Thanks! I have a feeling that with the baby along we'll be a little more bound to the campsite. That's fine because often that is where all the fun is.
I'll have a better idea of who's coming once the baby gets here and I figure out how to work it. Anyone have a spare manual? I don't want to look foolish while I field strip the baby.

So here's my new greatest idea. Lets all chip in and get a hot tub delivered. I'll offer up $50.

You'll do fine... I expect my wife & son will be hanging around the campsite too.. I am not sure if we will have the big camper this year or not. Hope so to keep the wife happy... lol

A good friend of mine and myself want to enter.

Could someone be so kind as to give me a link to the rules, popular calibers, numbers of kills and what type of range to expect.

I am guesing .223 , .22-250, 243 caliber is the way to go and from point blank to 400 yards.

Thanks

check the first few posts in this thread that will explain some.

calibers will range from the .22LR & up. Ranges from 0 to whatever you are comfortable shooting. I sat on one field last year for over 90mins shooting anywhere from 20 to 300+yrds.

As for the number of kills, that will depend on the weather, the gopher recovery from last year, etc. We have tons of land to shoot on, and can usually find more.... you can average 100, 200, 500 a day or more depending on how many people show up, how high the grass is, etc.

Hope that helps.

just spent the last hr or so looking through the photo thread from last year... Sitting here in -38 windchill weather, the rain don't look so bad.

I think it is time to work out a better shelter for next year. I have some ideas, now just to put them to paper. need somthing to draw the smoke out too.

But I am so looking forward to going.. too bad it is still 6+months away...

Yep. Every year it has become more obvious that we need decent shelter. With such a large group, extreme weather and a fire pit to deal with I think we may need something at least semi permanent. I'd like to see your ideas.

I'm always willing to chip in with tools, materials and labour. Too bad there isn't a nearby stand of pine trees.

I have a dozen or so large pine poles that I would donate to this worthy cause. The problem being they are here (LA) not there (land of stubblejumpers:p) so someone has to figure out how to haul them.

All this talk about quitting drinking got me started on a bottle of Capt. Morgan's......Kim ,Jason Et al......gotta post some new interesting stuff cause I hate to admit it but I have been dreraming of gopher shooting for the last week................Oh yeah is the shoot gonna be the long weekend again ........need to get my time off request in......

Mainly what we need for the shelter is tarps (larger ones prefered) longer 2x6's and build a frame within the trees. The smoke is the hard part. The best thing would to be a tipi of some sort... natural chimney...

You guys know I'll bring what I can.......need some more of that good twine ?....lol.....my supplier is pretty generous.........If I remember right finished lumber is good to go but raw logs (poles ) are a no go......is that right?
