Popped my black rifle cherry! large pics and new added video

Well....with cheap AE 223 ammo, free hand shooting, iron sights with no rest at 250Yrds I managed an 8in grouping...(ok 8in is not great but you try free hand!!!)

That goes down to 4in with a bipod!!!
 
That looks like a fantastic location to pump some rounds out, great backdrop. Nice piece of kit as well. I was thinking of getting one when they first came out , but they are so damn expensive.

I got it off of the EE here. The guy happened to be local so we met up and I plucked 'er off the market!

the 5 mags that came with it are all 5/10 single stack mags. I will get the conversion kit in time, but apparently my rifle needs some modifications to the receiver first as posted by madness further up in the thread.

I am excited to put the new stock on when i get home to BC, its gunna be awesome.
 
yea it seemed lonely without music, and i just picked a song that was the same length as the video, you can always mute it :p

it was filmed and edited yes, with a kodak playsport in 720p at 60fps slowed down to 1/5 speed. I think it worked alright. I would love to have an slr to film with at 1000fps though, that would be so awesome.

8" from the shoulder at 250yds is not great with a 2MOA rifle? What is "Good groups at this range and offhand? You young ones are way better shooters than us old folk!!:sniper:
 
Well...I actually thought I was doing bad!!! so is this good or bad....my target partner was doing 3in with a Browning BAR 338 at 350 with a scope and bipod.

Compared to him I was doing rookie work.....I couldn't get the 12x12 plate at 350 with my HK with 3 rds...but I figured it was me not the rifle...maybe a scope will help.

SO Driller212...do you have any plans for your SL8...Mods...shooting type...scope etc??
 
yea il tell you both short term and long term.

Im at school and actually have pretty much no money now so I wont be spending on anymore mods until summer.

So for now: bushnell 3x9x40, or cheapy red dot, and a custom stock I already have made by CNADNSL8-5 which i will put picks up of once I have it on. and then just shoot like that.

Long term: I will have a bushnell 3200 elite or a 10x scope with 55 grain .223 drop points on it, and/or an acog or elcan scope, get some gunsmithing done to be able to put on an ar 15 magwell and of course get the magwell and install it. I would like to get some rails on the handguard, and maybe do a nice paintjob on it? Oh and I want a shorter top rail so I will have to get that too.

I dont plan on turning it into a g36 but some g36 conversion parts may find their way onto the rifle :p

Oh and really long term get the barrel threaded and get a fake can for it!!!!!

but its even great the way it is...

so basically what I am saying is I will probably put another 2 grand or more into this rifle.
