I use my 22mag for yotes and get fairly decent performance using 40gr HPs from CCI. My buddy suggested switching to the accutips. I am just looking for any input on this cartidge before I go buy a box. Thanks guys!!

I used them when I had a .22 wmr, they were the most accurate round I could find. Don't know if the lighter, balistic tip bullet would be better than the 40 grainer for penetration on yotes. You"ll not be diapointed with the accuracy of the 35 bt's.

The most accurate ammo in my savage as well. Good Ammo.

Bullets do a great job of killing but for coyote how come you dont use something with a little more range and energy like a 22-250 ?

No need for more range...the property I hunt has 1 open feild that is 125 yards accross. 22wmr is perfect for that range and conserves the pelt nicely.

If the accutips are as accurate as described I think I will try them out.

Great round. Super accurate and they put my buddies 17hmr to shame in every comparison he could think of. Penetration. Fragmentation in jelly. Water jug impact. Accuracy. Wind drift at 150 and 200 yards. They will put a nice entrance hole in a 1"x1" 1/8" square tubing and a 3/4" exit hole at 75 yards. Devastating on crows coons and jacks. I've taking 3 coyotes with them. Cci also makes a polymer tipped round that is equally well. They have black plastic tips instead of remingtons goldish colour tips

I am using the CCI 40gr HP for yotes as well.
Anyone know where to get these accutips in southern Ontario.
(I don't mean to hijack the thread)
A PM will do if anyone has a source.

I am curious to see what a WMR would do to a yote... my good bud shot one with a WMR at 50 yards and killed it but that was over 10 years ago so he can't really remember if the cal was really good yote medicine. Besides everyone knows that coyotes have grown in size over the past 10 years :) I would personally try a WMR on a coyote at under 100m, I am using a Hornet for coyote hunting and it is not that much more powerful for yotes...

I am also interested in where to find it....I think CanTire in Belleville carries it, other than that I think Bass Pro should have it. I am hitting up both locations next weekend so I will PM you and let you know.

The WMR does great out to 150yds max. It leaves a nice little .22 entry, and I have never had an exit wound on one, so it really keeps the pelts in good condition.

Love the remington 33gr accutip's, I have only shot groundhogs and one fox with them, no yotes. They do a phenomenal job on the hogs and the fox was only about 60yds and it was a bang flop.

I shot at least a couple of dozen red foxes with the .22 wmr in the UK(I think the UK foxes are a little bigger than their Canadian cousins). 125 yds is about the max I could cleanly kill a fox with a lungshot from my ruger varmint .22 wmr. Much as I love the round, and would like to buy a rifle chambered for it again, I still would'nt be hunting yotes with it.
You have a .22wmr already and if it works for you then more power to you.
The smallest thing I use for yotes is my .22 k hornet with that same .35 gr bullet.(3050fps instead of 2100!)
