In this age of political correctness should we be shooting and scoring the white targets instead of the brown ?? Also, should the small targets, regardless of colour, be no shoot targets in deference to the height challenged and children?? Should there be gender differentiation for targets and have it reflected in the scoring thereof ?? What do you all think. Should I be asking tio vincenzo, la saber él todo de IPSC, for his views on the subject??
 
These posts really used to get me going...until I actually met Hugh. While I will admit the odd one does still get my BP up bit...you have to know it's "tongue in cheek" for the most part (with a slight bit of an agenda)

...no need to heat up the tar.
 
when i shoot i see cardboard and steel, what do you see?

i see small steel as a challange at distance and large steel as speed at 11m

i see full ipsc targets as 10 points when shooting good and i see flipped ipsc targets as a pain in the a$$ when they slow me down.


i think your looking past what is really there.

if your having trouble with this, go shoot with the RCMP and have that argument on what colour there targets are...

Here I am.

Being "a person of color", I once asked CGN Poster Boy Uncle Vinny the same (dumb) question, and he replied something like "We shoot brown paper and white steel, so what's the problem?".

Do you want me to make "cluck, cluck" noises now?
 
thats correct federal corrections used to use plain black sioullette targets .
WE HAD 1 alLegation of RACISM .........NOW WE ORDER BLUE /GREEN ORAnge/ targets ........:rolleyes:
that and the idea of brown vs white or big vs little is ........WELL

The answer to the question of "Why", is the white side is not ink, but baked on talc, and cheap as heck so it adds next to nothing to the cost of the target. The scoring perforations are on the brown side because the dies tended wear faster and need cleaning when used on the talc'd side.

Or Jeff Cooper was a raging hater who's South West Pistol League was formed to practice shooting Mexicans. I never can get the story straight.

Personally I don't know any amoebas and couldn't tell you if brown amoebas are more deserving of shooting than white amoebas.

Hmmm

We use BLUE Steel at our club.

The white steel is for no shoot steel.
Making scoring steel white makes no sense.
