Long Branch Mk.1 cocking pieces - hen's teeth?

So in other words you have owned ~ .000143% of all 1941 LB production? (4 of 18,000). :p

Were there that many? I thought it was 9000 in 1941?

Just have one now...

More than 9000

The books I have seen estimate from 14-18,000 1941 dated guns, though some were assembled in 1942, such as mine and the one I almost bought. Mine is in the 11,000 range.

Bolt

Can you post some up close pics of the markings on the bolt with the hollowed out knob, I remember hearing/reading somewhere once that some early LBs used some Brit made parts that were used in checking the tooling, thought that could be completely wrong of course.

My bolt only has a LB marking on the same face of the bolt handle as the serial number, and the crossed flag and crown thingy just to the right of the serial number. There are no other markings whatsoever. The bolt is original to the rifle.

There is a big LB symbol right beside the serial number. Also one on the cocking piece.

Now, this rifle has an 0L7### s/n and has the hinged upper band, if we can assume (can't) that it was factory fitted.
