After spending all day with Darrel yesterday learning how to reload, I thought I better get out and test these loads we put together :) I get alot of people asking me how the Sightron is and how my Savage BA 110 shoots. Well take this in to account when looking at the groups. This is my first gun I have ever owned :) Haven't really shot in the last 15 years but used to hunt when I was younger with my father. All shots were off a Caldwell front bag and a home made rear bag (aka sock with wife's ornamental rocks in it :). So I would think once my shooting catches up to the scope and gun my groups should improve. If anyone else shoots these please share you setup and results Ron

Wow.....looks like you and Dmay actually know what your doing! Hey Ron, since your new here I'll give you some free advice. Stay far-far away from Dmay. He's been a bad influence on me...:p. Pretty soon you'll be spending 10's of thousands of dollars on rifles and gear...plus drinking rye whiskey like it's water........:D......w:h:

Oh, that's cold man.....

And don't never take a pic of your gun with a trigger lock on it, makes ya look like a sissy.....:D

I was expecting a comment on that. Haha I think your 50 beside my little 338 makes me look more like a sissy then my trigger lock :( dam 50 Cals :)

Best thing to add to your Savage is bedding. That accustock will allow the action to wiggle around. That should keep the shots from having a cluster and an out.

Glad the rifle is shooting so well for you.

Have fun in the snow...

nice shooting, did you get a chance to chrono your rounds ?

from what i am reading on your target sheet it looks like you are using 85 grains of H1000 with a 300 grain SMK Bullet ?

Is that correct ?

Yes that's correct and I believe that I can probably go hotter but well take that in small steps. Do you shot the same round? That round was shooting 2640ish on my rifle.

My go to load for light sweater to t-shirt weather has been 84 grains of H-1000 seated .015 off the lands with sierra 300 gr MK's and Lapua brass CCI Large Rifle primers this gives me 2620 FPS 8 and below 85 grains of H-1000 2640 FPS. The Timberwolf has a tighter chamber then most other .338's and generates pressure quicker so less powder is needed to get the rated velocities from the reload data. When I used 91.5 grains of H-1000 I was getting pressure signs and if I remember correctly 2960 FPS with 300 gr Scenars

This was way hot for my Timberwolf's chamber and was shot at 100m

What kind if FPS were you seeing with the H1000? How did it group father out? What twist barrel are you running? Very impressive groups :)

Well being the disorganized scatter brain I have not methodically logged my 600m - 785m stuff so not official. But I did hit a 1" pole at 600m off bipod prone twice
with consecutive shots and then hit a can of black powder G::D Then at the 785m off of a shooting bench with BR adjustable front rest with rear bag I landed 3 shots within 3" then 2 more opened up to like 12". DISCLAIMER I am in no way bragging as I have a long way to go before claiming to have skill there was no wind and hardly any mirage because the next day there was some wind and I could hardly hit anything mostly due to not being able to dial my scope in
and not keeping logs of my scope adjustments :bangHead:

There is a greek sheep fu#!@er on this forum that can vouch for me lets see if he can leave the sheep alone long enough to notice this thread:p: You around
Viper?

I have some more groups I can post of my 84 grain load later tonight.
