BumpFire Stock - Video

they said in the video that it will adapt to any adjustable AR style stock, does that mean that it could be put on different platforms that use the 6 possition AR stock, or is there a corellation with the buffer tube assebly?

i dont get how the ATF prohibited the akins accelerator, but apparently this is approved and comes with a letter. both stocks use a spring, im assuming this one sits behind the buffer, while the accelerator one replaces the vblock.

I think because the former entailed mod on the rifle itself (trigger) while the latter involves only the butt stock, nothing on the receiver.

Doesn't look to have a spring.Just a sliding stock with forward pressure applied to the forestock by your hand.

ahhh, well as long as it doesnt use a spring or shoelace, and only hand pressure, the children are safe.

next question, whos gonna be the lucky dealer to start selling em up here assuming the RCMP dont put the kibosh on something that fun.

This might come into play but it would depend on the definition of a single press of the trigger.

Assembling Offence

Making automatic firearm
102. (1) Every person commits an offence who, without lawful excuse, alters a firearm so that it is capable of, or manufactures or assembles any firearm that is capable of, discharging projectiles in rapid succession during one pressure of the trigger.

Punishment
(2) Every person who commits an offence under subsection (1)
(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years and to a minimum punishment of imprisonment for a term of one year; or
(b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.

As you said, depends on the interpretation... as technically the stock forces you to press the trigger multiple times to fire multiple shots.

I'm trying to find the OIC's on prohibited devices.I'm sure there is something there that covers this kind of thing. I hope I'm wrong.

O.k. found it. This is so broad that I'm sure they will make it apply.

1. Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession.

That's much more specific to a device like this and I could totally see the RCMP forcing the issue - good find.

it doesn't touch the trigger. your finger does it all. still by their words it is ok.

(not that i would want to explain this to a court of law myself)

This just shows that giving the right tools humans can make anything :D

You could probablly use this idea for many rifles, not just the AR series... Hell bumpfire isn't hard to do as is ;)

Also you could hand this stock to someone and it isn't going to bumpfire... the operator has to do more than just hold in the trigger...

It is not a mechanical device. There are no moving parts.
The Accelerator had a spring, which by definition made it mechanical.
If this got by BATF, it should get by our definitions as well.
Until it starts to be sold here, that is. Then we could see the media uproar.

The guy in the video shows us the moving parts.Certainly more mechanical than a shoe lace or rubber band and the BATF has definate views about those. But really at the end of the day we all know what will happen right?

My interpretation of this, not that it matters is this....I believe this OIC was directly in response to the cranks that would attach to the trigger guard and when turned, would activate the trigger via lobes on the rotating piece.

Now if you took an electric motor and put a lobe on the shaft, put it through the trigger guard and powered it up, instant machine gun.

So you can see how the mechanical, or electric device can "operate the trigger mechanism...."....the lobes are the things tripping the trigger.

I can see the powers that be making sure that they can apply the law to anything they want, all they have to do is show the youtube video of fullauto fire by technicality to a judge and you are done.

What do I know, I just make bolt guns :D
